I'm not really sure how to describe it other than a masterpiece. It's basically abstract time-lapse sequences and panorama shots of mountains and landscapes, but with brilliant music by Philip Glass. This film was done back in the 70's and it's still amazing today. It was the start of a trilogy, Powaqatsi following after, and then finally Naqoyqatsi. If anyone has seen this, please tell me what you think.

OHMYGOD, SHOX.

You win. I LOOOOOVE Koyaanisqatsi! Have you seen the other two films? I looked for them after I saw the first, but could never find them.

I seriously thought no one except Arkansas Governor's School alums had heard of this movie.

I'm ordering the other 2 in a few days, I can't wait to watch them. It's great to hear I'm not the only one who's heard of them. I've seen a bit of Naqoyqatsi but I'm buying it anyways so it won't matter hehe.

If it's from the 70s and it hasn't been shown on the AMC channel, I haven't seen it. Where could I find such a movie as this?

www.amazon.com

You could TRY Blockbuster or something, but I highly doubt they'd have it.

Here's the trailer for it: http://www.filmscouts.com/scripts/proj.cfm?Type=Clip&Format=QT&File=koyaani/koyaanit

You'd have to see it to really appreciate it, not just from the trailer.

For the record... I was flipping through the TV Guide channel, and I saw this... either on A&E or AMC. One of those old movie channels. Didn't watch it though, as there are clearly no sports involved.
