Hey I just downloaded DWI and I have all my folders and directories correct. I also have in every song folder, the mp3 file, the two PNG's (banner and background), and the .dwi file. But my problem is when I run DWI, it does recognies the new songs, but when I click on "Arcade Mode", it says "No Songs Available in this Mode". Please help me out. Thanks.

First, make sure you file structure is correct

DWI
Songs
*your song folder, usually called Default*
*individual song folders*
*song contents*

check the fileheads on the DWI files. Make sure they're correct. See Nestlekwik's FAQ to check what it should look like.

If all else fails, reinstall DWI, or redownload the songs. They may be corrupt.

P.S. You don't need a banner or a background in order for a song to work.

before you do any of that, go to options and click rebuild song list.... if that doesnt work do the above post

I'm having the same problem. I downloaded DWI files and placed them in the songs folder and nothing happened. I try placing the zipped file into the place where it says "place dwi files" and nothing happens also! So what am I doing wrong? This just doesn't make sense!

The same thing is happening to me. I've checked my headers a million times, and it all seems good to me. No missing semicolins or anything. I go to play, and it says it finds the song when i start, it even says one song available at the top, but then when I try to go into arcade mode, it says there are no songs available in this mode. It wont work for nonstop mode either. I dont know whats wrong with it. :x

thanks,
Moracca

Well, I had this problem, and reinstalling DWI fixed it.

Since DWI doesn't actually install, do this.

1. Make a copy of your songs folder and put it somewhere safe (the Desktop works good)
2. Delete the DWI folder.
3. Take the original download of DWI (the .zip)
4. Install it like last time.
5. Delete the song folder in the new DWI.
6. replace it with the copy on the desktop.

Congrats, you have a new copy of DWI.

And again, the file structure in case you don't like to scroll up.

DWI
\Songs
\\second songs folder(usually named default)
\\\individual song folder
\\\\song contents. (.dwi, .MP3, .png) Make you put the actual files in there, and not the .zip.

your all going about it in of the wrong way-- Go int othe songs folder, and create a new folder called 'personal'. then, laces all the DWI song files (not contents) into the Personal folder. it shoukld be like this:
Song:
Default
Personal:
Song1:
contents
Song2:
contents

etc etc etc

Does DWI work with wav files?

If not how do I convert a wav to a mp3?

NessTormented

yes it does; it is work with wav, mp3. Thats all i am know of...

nestlekwik

It is compatible with WAV and mP3 and I've seen the use of .ogg (?) files as well. There is no real big noticable difference between qualities, but WAV files are huge, for the most part, and are practically impossible to e-mail if you're trying to send in a song for FFR. I always try to use mP3 when I can or even convert WAVs to mP3 format.

yes; if you are trying to send of your song to synth send it in of mP3 format; it would take less of the bandwidtrh of his website.

I am advice try to not use .ogg files, as it may be of corrupt.

a .ogg is just another way of compressing audio files. It's not much different from MP3.

"A Rose, by any other name would smell just as sweet"
-Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet

It's still a good compression method. And .ogg is pronounced "ogre" without the "re" sound.

See? Now it sounds badass.

EDIT: I spelled Shakespeare wrong.

it's the other way around. .OGGs are smaller than .MP3s.
