I worked this afternoon on these. As you can see one has text in the lower right hand corner and one doesn't. I couldn't decide which one looked better. Comments are welcome.
EDIT: Did these in Photoshop.

Other than that, It looks nice.
Good way to make it monochromatic, yet still contrast well.

Yeah, the edges on the tentacles are kind of rough.

Wow. I didnt mean THAT much softening. You dont want to lose the definition of the edges.
(Of course, I dont know where you are wanting to go with the picture.)

I like it better softened. I might experiment and do something with the edges in between the two.
I am not really planning to do anything with the picture =/
