Pendragon: Have you ever read this?

Has anyone ever read the Pendragon series, by D. J. Machale? I think this is an AWSOME and intense series. So far, my favorite is Pendragon: The Lost City of Faar

I personally like them. I've read all eight and even got my brother to read the first one. My favourite is probably The Never War or The Quillan Games. They kept my attention the longest, and I never wanted to put them down. A great series of books good for most ages. If you haven't read them you should try the first and see if you like them. If you don't that's fine.

When the game isn't fun for you anymore, take a break. It's not a job, nobody here is professional and getting paid to play and force themselves to constantly improve... it's a game.

I've just finished the second one, but my loocal library doesn't have The Never War. I can't wait until I get to the Quillan Games. How is number 8?

8 was pretty good, a little bit confusing toward the end. It takes some sick turns that will leave you breathless. I give 8, 9.7/10 It's really good, but some of the twists are a bit confusing. If you really think about what you learn in #8 you'll understand. At least, I did.

            So, bump.

Book number nine came out, Raven_Rise. That link will give you everything you need to know about the book and possibly some spoilers.

In my oppinion, this, like I'm sure many have said about the sequels, is the best book so far. It jumps between the territories bouncing from Alder, to Pendragon, to Mark and Courtney, and straight back to the others. Plenty of plot twists are evident in this book and they keep you on your toes making you never want to put the book down. A great read for all of you that have read the other eight as I have.

Instead of taking her out to a movie and buying her popcorn, bend her over the arm of a couch. It's very economical. Just make sure you are using the proper protection, because then it can become VERY, VERY GOD DAMN UNECONOMICAL if she pops a baby 9 months down the road.

Re: Pendragon: Have you ever read this?

                  CONTAINS MINOR SPOILERS!!!!

                  Where to begin...

The series is about a boy named Bobby Pendragon that has to travel between ten different territories through what is know as a "Flume". His job as the lead traveler is to save the territories from destruction. His enemy is Saint Dane who trys to use the turning point of the territories to lead them into destruction. Bobby, with his Uncle Press, travel between the territories saving them from Saint Dane and his plans.

Each territory has it's own traveler that is designated to saving that territory. The other Travelers may use the flumes to help save that territory. All Travelers document their journey in journals and use a Traveler ring to transport the journals to their Acolytes. This is how we know what is happening to Bobby.

At the enterence of each flume is what are known as "quigs". When Saint Dane is on a territory these quigs guard the flumes from Travelers leaving and entering that territory. This is one of the reasons that Travelers know where Saint Dane is.

The flumes are said to take a traveler to a territory at the right time to save that territory. No one knows how these flumes work, but they are like a ride on a cloud from territory to territory.

That is the Pendragon series cramed into a very small nutshell. That should tell you the minor premise of the books. I didn't want to give away too much information about the later books so this focuses mostly on the early ones. Hope it helps you pick up on the series. It's a great read.
