one hand, for some reason I can't use two. I'm actually better using one.

What I do is:
< key always has my indec finger on it
> key always has my ring finger on it
^ jey always has my middle finger on it
V key only has my middle finger on it when I need to hit the key, then back ti the ^ key

When there is both a ^ and V at once, I lay my middle finger flat against both of them, then stirke both while still keeping my other fingers on the < and > keys.

This method is actually very proficient, I have never gotten a hand cramp or tired from having both my arms at a wierd angle. You two handers need to give it a try sometime.

pretty much the most effiecient way to play is to use 2 hands.

right hand:middle finger on the up arrow, and ring finger on the right arrow

left hand:index on the down arrow, and middle finger on the left arrow.

playing this way can make you able to hit arrows ALOT faster and more accurate than using one hand. may take some getting used to but it pays off in the long run, specially on songs like g2,m,and a.

I use 2 hands to beat 7 stars in beatmania, I use 2 hands to AAA max300 on dwi/sm, I use 2 hands here.

I use two hands. One hand for the left arrow and my other hand for the other three. Yeah, I play weird.

This is kinda off topic, but I have a question. How many times did you beat the fast piano, Omicron?

Hands...?? Damn!!!

I've been using my feet. I was wonering why I was so crap.

Side note: Tried both... I find one hand better/easier.

Not that my opinion is worth much ;)

Cheers..

I just play using my 2 index fingers, and i've been able to beat every .dwi thrown at me. This is different though because the timing and the arrows are so different so its like a completely different game

I use 1 hand, 3 fingers...

index finger on the left arrow key
middle finger on the up arrow key
ring finger on the right arrow key

my middle finger jumps to the down arrow key, unless there is a up/down combo, in which case my index finger moves over to the down arrow.

my friend uses two hands and he has his hands like this:

left middle: <
left pointer: v
right pointer: ^
right middle: >

he says its easier, but i don't think so

I just want to be able to remap keys. I want to use ASDF. One handed is a pain, but it's much faster to learn the keys.

I play the exact same way, except when I have to ^ and V at once I shift my hand and use my Pointer on the V keeping my middle on ^.

yeah ive been playing same as SOTN but my middle finger alternates between staying on ^ and V depending on where I am in whatever song.

hmm wonder if theres an easy way to rebind keys so you could have 2 hands in a more confortable position.. (like half WASD half arrows)

i can play with only my left had too just at about 75% proffeciency

Arktisk could be in the top 10 dwi players in the world considering he beat gravity on his first time when i showed him, as well as stoic dwi version which is rare and flight of the bumble bee - that song is gay
*EDIT*
The point of this post is to show you, that one of the best players is arktisk, and he uses 2 hands. That could show you something.

I have been using two hands since I began playing this game, so I decided to try one hand. Let me tell you now playing with one hand really sucks. After a few songs your hand becomes tired. Your fingers get very confused and take you out of the game. Also it is very hard when there are different types of 2 arrows at once in a row. So however you are using one hand, good job, it's very hard and screwed up. Go two Hands!!!!!!!!!

One handed is easy. You just need to develop a feel for it. I'm a newbie, and I can get three straight maxes on Megaman and still be able to attempt FF7 without pain.

It seems to be basically whatever you started playing with. Anyone who has played first person shooters for hours is thoroughly used to that repetitive moevement with one hand, (right hand or left if you played the old-school ones without mouse). So Id think it really depends on how you first started playing.

Ive been using one hand for the week ive been playing now and two hands is harder for me but Im sure that after a little while id be fine.
