I've had this problem too and it's extremely annoying. I found that the problem was in the file header. I asked Nestlekwik to send me a sample file of a song that works, and this was the file thingy for it.

#FILE:DJENCO~1.MP3;

Well I messed around with the file name in mine and finally got it to work somehow. I'm not sure what I did so no point in posting, just mess around with the file name thing until it works.

#file:magus theme.mp3;
#title:magus theme;
#artist:squaresoft;
#bpm:30;
#gap:0;
#single:basic:4:848624684268;

hmmm... well depending on what you using (SM or DWI) if its DWI (which im pretty sure it is based on the layout you where using) if i remember correctly (which i doubt) you have to specify the complete location of the mp3.... ex...
c:/DWI/Songs/myne own/zelda/zelda.mp3

i'll probably be corrected so dont go changing anything yet...

ps. ive only made one dwi... and it was 3 months ago... so my memory is kinda blurry....

Delete the #FILE entry altogether. I think you're only supposed to use it when specifing a song that isn't in the immediate song folder.

P.S. When you do use the #FILE entry, it should me in MS-DOS format. (all caps, no spaces, no special characters, up to 8 characters). That should be
#FILE:MAGUS~1.MP3; but that probably won't work either for the reason above.

Just right click the song > properties > copy address(make sure you dont get any spaces) and insert that into the file thing.

That should be the only problem, its happened to me a few times.
I wouldn't leave out the #FILE tag altogether unless the entire address solution doesnt work. Or you could always try moving the song into a different folder, like maybe your Local DWI folder > Mp3s. Then you can copy the address into the #FILE.

I had this problem, too. Then I changed a few things in my .dwi file and it worked. Mainly, I renamed the MP3 file so that it was all caps and less than 8 characters ("HIP.MP3"). Then, (which is what I think was the real problem) I noticed that Notepad automatically added returns (or "enters") at the end of every line, so I took off word wrap (Format >> Word Wrap) then got rid of the returns by simply deleting them. My file works now.
