I just got my Practice ACT scores back about a week ago and I had gotten a 27. Stupid trick questions in the reading section, I could have easily had a 29.

"Trick questions"?

Maybe your reading comprehension just isn't as good as you think it is. Part of being able to answer a question is being able to understand the question, especially in the section related to reading comprehension.

Bitch.

ps mine was like 27. Absolutely zero effort on my part. No practice, no studying, nothing. Didn't even go out of my way to get good sleep or proper breakfast either. I'm pretty sure I could have broken 30 if I had prepared for it at all.

The questions I had been talking about go as follows:

Which is the BEST answer? (especially referring to a character in the short story's personality)

a. (correct answer)
b. (correct answer)
c. (correct answer)
d. (correct answer)

Exactly, and some times figuring out which one is the most correct is difficult.

Go with the option that has direct proof is is the most substantiated. There's always a "right answer" that is easier to justify than the others.
