I came across this map today. It is a visualization by distance to the nearest McDonald's. The map is all cool and dandy, we have seen these kind of things with Wal-Mart, it really comes as no surprise. However, the best stat to take away from this is that the furthest you can be from a McDonalds in the US is 145 miles- and that's in North Dakota. But who would drive 145 miles to go to a McDonalds?

However, the best stat to take away from this is that the furthest point you can get away from a McDonald's in the contiguous US is in South Dakota, where you can be 107 miles away from the wonderment that is the McGriddle.

Ok, cool.

Wait, but you just told me...

Anyone else struggling with this?

My little city has 7 of them.

There's only 2 that I know of in my city. Not that many.

Also, on somewhat of a sidenote, there are a total of 0 drive-thrus where I live. People don't believe me when I say it, but every one here is so concerned about the environment that they actually banned all drive-thrus (even drive-up ATMs) in the 80s. For a little while, there was even a ban on gas powered blowers. That didn't hold up very long though because city hall started looking like ****, rofl.

85 percent of all Canadians live within a 15-minute drive of a Canadian Tire store.that nine out of ten adult Canadians shop at one at least twice a year; and that 40 percent of Canadians shop at Canadian Tire every week.

We have TONS of McDonalds around here.
We have three I can walk to, and at least 4 more that I know of that are within driving distance, and that's before you hit the actual city.
McDonalds, is a horrible horrible place to eat. I don't do fast food often in general, because taste is deceiving. For example, Taco Bell, tastes INCREDIBLE, I absolutely love it, but the beef they sell is almost not passed by the food administration as healthy or consumable, which means that whatever McDonalds is using for potatoes, is definitely incredibly unhealthy and abnormal.

Not only does America have an obesity problem, but monopolized restaurants like McDonalds, don't help.

For example:
There's a Wal Mart about 15 minutes from my house, that has a McDonalds in it. Come on, really?

****ing Americans. Greedy beyond belief. Not to mention absolute idiots.

if someone randomly died because of those foods they'd be in a lot of trouble, i doubt they want this (even though no one cares about long term consequences). their resources are still very poor and the people who are supposed to cook them are rarely taught about elementary cooking conditions.

i dont know about you but when i'm anywhere near a fast food i sense that horrible smell of reused oil and fried stuff, and that alone is enough to keep me away from it. i ate at a fast food probably less that 10 times in my entire life, and it's always been a disgraceful experience.

in short: if you eat at a fast food your bad and you're gonna hurt yourself

I feel like someone should license a franchise and open it at the exact place in North Dakota that is currently farthest from a McDonalds.

Whether out of spite or for laughs, either way.

There's a good chance that that specific point is in the middle of a corn field or something, so yeah...

There are quite a few McDonalds' around me--I walk to one without having to really force myself, and I can get to four other ones if I wanted to take a 30ish+ minute walk.
