Just listened to FGJ, they are really good, and I actually have heard a lot of these songs, but never really looked out who made them. I might re-think buying, but Paypal failed for me the first time. :/

To the staff of FFR, I completely understand why people will be angry or disappointed by this.
However, to be completely honest, I'm actually surprised you haven't done something like this sooner. I mean there are costs to things and this is a sort of business. It is your website and it is entirely fair that you run the site/game/etc however you feel it to be run best. You can't always get everything for free, and you are entirely within your rights to implement this or any other system. From a user's point of view, I can see how it can be seen as unfair. However, the users don't own this website or associated materials. You do. So it is your call. If people don't like it they can either continue on, trying to ignore it, or they are free to leave. So often users on forums and message boards and sites seem to think they somehow collectively own the boards. The truth is only those who pay the bills for the website and own the hosting/domain name/etc really own anything. Everything else is up to their grace. I just want to say that, all in all, I have seen that there has been great amounts of work put into this site in every way, from the forums to the Flash games, and especially the main Flash game itself, FlashFlashRevolution. Also there are Flash-based chat applications and etc. You really have worked hard to produce a quality site. I have been wanting to tell you this for some time now but I didn't know how best to do so and now I have that opportunity. It is all very impressive to me. And I can tell that many software technologies are in use from the simple HTML to Flash/ActionScript to server-side PHP to some sort of database backend and who knows what else. (Well, you know, obviously) You have done an excellent job and I thank you. This goes towards everyone who works towards making this experience what it is. |

Tass won't tell me things like that, plus, Sprite and/or Izzy both have their ways of knowing things and as for me, information trickles down to me when they know about it. Well, with certain things anyway.

Don't mistake, I figure things out on my own
But in this particular situation, I just so happened to hear things from them. ![]()

My only idea for this would be to, assuming that you're going to be doing this for more bands/songs, is to set a really far deadline to buy it, then let the token become public. There is a 2 week (I think) wait for non-subscribers to get the newest songs in FFR. For whatever reason, they have to wait, they do and there is no problem. Why not do that for these pay-for-early-delivery songs. Except put it at months early. I was originally thinking 6 months, but that's one hell of a long time. 3 months seems a little short, but with a subscriber status on a 3 month schedule as well, that could work. I'm thinking 4-5 months would be best. Probably 4 because then you could release the "new" public token every 1/3 of a year. |
