![]() Now, I only have to find out how to be bad at FFR. I have not been able to get over 1000 yet... |

it is annoyingly hard and counter-intuitive to be bad at FFR to compete at round 2.

You don't have to be bad -- just play very well with no music and a lower cut.

I try that...
I know i shouldn't do hard songs. Mashing usually gets you 2/3 perfects.... but too lazy to play songs that have lots of notes, but isn't fast or w/e....

Rubix is definitely right... if you can AAA a song, you could potentially get 0 Perfects on a song if every note was hit 3 frames sooner. I think I saw something like this somewhere, it might not be 100% correct. I think this is what you get:
Good (Late) PERFECT <-- Sensors Perfect (Early) Perfect Good Average If this is wrong, go ahead and fix it plz.

Late Good
Late Perfect (on the sensors) Mid Perfect Early Perfect Good Average Basically what you can do is reverse screencut so that relative to your normal playfield, you *act* as if you're trying for strong PA, that is, you're still trying to aim for optimal accuracy at the top edge along the screencut, but you're operating in earlier frames. |

That's what I do. Also, I think it helped me to try a bunch of different songs and find a tempo I felt comfortable with. If a song was too slow, I'd always end up hitting Perfects and Boos... if it was too fast, I'd keep hitting late and getting Perfects.

I find it more personally satisfying to win even when the method is known
I'm all for intensityI feel kinda like the villains of DBZ or something -- "I want you to power up to your maximum before we fight... it's been so long since I've had a true battle!" Last edited by MrRubix; 04-29-2008 at 02:34 PM.. |

Updated. To remind, the next round goes up at 10:00pm EST today 6 hours, 10 minutes from now, and will be an FFR-based main round again.

Yeah, that show was fun. 15 minutes of screaming and powering-up w/ 10 minutes of chatter about how strong they are.
Also, I'm calling the next challenge... LONGEST STREAM OF EXCITE BIKE AAA'S.
