Default We do not exist

It just seems to me, that nothing is real, nothing exists, i do not exist, you do not exist.

basically, my thread is all about the idea of how we came about. We are humans, living on a huge ball of gas and minerals and compounds and different things. We are in a “infinite” amount of space with no air, no weight, no nothing. Just balls of gas everywhere, and different chemicals and such. How did we get here?

Well.. many theories suggest there was a “Big Bang” in which a bunch of chemicals combusted and exploded outward, and started forming the universe as we know it, many billions of years ago. The thing that bothers me the most, is how did those original chemicals or substances get there? Now maybe aliens put them there, or what not, to create another universe, but how did those aliens get there?

Many believe that god created everything. Personally, I'm not a very religious person. I am someone who has to know how something works to understand it. For instance, in math, a^2 * b^2 = c^2 WHY!!!! Not my math teacher, my sister, no one can tell me why “It just is, you just have to accept it” I DONT WANT TO ACCEPT IT, I WANT TO KNOW HOW IT WORKS. So basically, i don't believe that a god created the universe, but if so, how did that god create himself? Some of my friends suggest he created himself. But let me ask you this. Can you think of anything that can create itself? I sure cant, how can someone make something happen if they don't exist.

Why are we here? Another great question that kinda ties into what i was saying before. What is our purpose in life? Now I'm not being one of those people that always looks at things down, i enjoy my life, and i enjoy playing games, talking to my friends, and just hanging out. But can we win? What is our goal in life, just to make a lot of money and one day rot in the ground? There has to be a bigger purpose in life, if not, why have us here?
I have a quote here, from the book “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” Now its not the exact quote, cause i left the book at school, but here is the basic jist.

Quote:
As soon as someone figures out why we are here, the universe will be instantly gone, and a new one created, more mind boggling than the one before it. There was a similar theory like this before, but the universe restarted
Just think about that, i know it might not be true, but hey, we are here, and that is mind boggling in itself.

I love that quote from the book. It's full of stuff like that. It is my favorite book. I can explain to you why that theory works. But in a second. First, I agree with the inpossibly annoying problem of where everything came from. People who preach god as follows are so hypocritical:
Christian: Well where do you think the universe came from?
Other: It's just always existed.
Christian: You're wrong, God created the universe and everything in it.
Other: Where did God come from?
Christian: He's just always existed.

Oh and about the C˛ = A˛ + B˛, this is how it was proven by pythagorus:
Take your right angle triangle. It has three sides, A, B, and C
Use the classic 3, 4, 5 example so that it's easier.
Now what's the are of a a square? 2 times the side, or, the side˛ right?
If you make a square on each side of triangle, both of the smaller ones, broken down into single unit components, will fit into the second one.
I guess this can only be seen as a visual demonstration or coincidence of the law, but you can't actually prove it until you start learning all your other stuff like dealing in radians and solving using trigonometric equations which all comes back to the famous and ever usefull PI.

how is that hypocritical...just becasue one thing didnt exist forever, doesnt mean something else completely different couldnt have lived forever...

and LD many things can create themselves, bacteria for instance do mitosis at an alarming rate...of course they cant do mitosis unless some things are present, however

i think the answers you are looking for do not really exist, and i dont know where i would even start explaining them

Well, the big bang wasn't caused by 'chemicals and substances'. Matter and energy have always existed. If you were to contain enough of it at one point you'd probably get your big bang.

Also, a galixy's distace is perportional to its distance. Galixys that are twice as far move twice as fast. Hence the universe is still expanding, continuously.

It goes into a hell of alot more detail than that, but yes...

As for not existing...uh, we're here, now arn't we? Why are we here? I like to think of it as more of a gift, than anything. Pure luck in the chain of evolution, and a properly balanced planet to support it.

Uhh, bacteria are created from other bacteria, it cant create itself out of nothing. Maybe i phrased my original post wrong.

Part of the definition of God is that he's always existed, infinitely into the past.

I know it seems odd, but when you talk about God, you have to think outside the realm of normal human understanding - because here we have the most powerful being in existance. We can't assume that God thinks like us, acts like us, works like us...human understanding HAS to go out the window to comprehend God.

Nothing can truly make sense at all. For something to continue forever is impossible, just logically cannot be. But, if the universe doesn't go on forever, whats after the place where it ends? And what about demensions, what about time? Time may not even exist, we just base it upon the fact that the sun appears to move. Dimensions, hmmm. I am holding a clear cube. The cube is smoked, so it does have a shadow. The shadows of the side of the cube closer to the source of light, is still casted through the other side of the cube onto the ground. So you can see the entire cube on the ground, flat, 2D. This 2D image is the shadow of a 3D cube. Now keeping that in mind, is the 3D cube a shadow of a 4D cube? Why do the rules the apply to our universe apply, and how do they relate to each other? Time, gravity, space, energy. Is gravity a side effect of energy that is in all mass? Is this why things with more mass have more "gravity"? Can time be altered by any of these other elements? Like someone moving very fast would actually age slower than someone not moving? Are we moving? We are moving. We are moving further away from the "center" of the universe. I dont quite remember where it was near, but we have an idea. Things further from the center of the universe have in aged less than the matter we're created from, correct? Heh, I'm kind of getting off topic, anyways that's just some rambling to think about.

The reality of it all is that how we came into existence is completely unknown.. people can waste their lives trying to figure it out, but in all seriousness.. does it not matter where we came from, but where we are going to?
