My dad hated me playing this game, too. But after a few times of me proving that it's awesome with reflexes, he doesnt yell as much anymore.
My hand eye coordination SUCKED before I played this game. I couldn't play catch with people, I couldn't throw, I couldn't fight/box (classes or playing around with friends) until I got addicted to this game. And now I can actually play catch and stuff. Also, I wanted to give Synth a BIG BIG thank you.... I was driving a few days ago, (just got my license last month) and I had a green light, and I was just getting ready to go through an intersection...When some idiot went FLYING by at like 60mph in a 35mph zone. He swerved right in front of me, and I can DEFINITELY say that if it werent for FFR, I would have completely gotten into an accident. And I had perfect timing when I stopped, too. If I had gone 2 more feet forwards, I would have hit the SUV, if I would have swerved 2 feet more to the right of me, I would have hit another car. I stopped JUST in time with JUST enough room to not hit anyone. My dad was with me, and after that happened, he doesnt yell when I play this game anymore. Also...My brother throws things at me when he gets mad. Before, I couldn't block them with my life. Now, I can catch or block anything that he throws at me. It's awesome. Ty Synth. <3 |

If can play a very difficult song better then you you'll stop (when he's not around) and if he loses he no longer bugs you about the game and admit that you have better reflexes than him and can react to things much faster. ......wow i sound very smart..... |

Lol, Synth just owned your dad. But I agree, it does help you "read" incoming things faster and also, improves your hand eye coordination.

Yeah, I have to agree with everyone here. Ask him why he thinks it's so bad. It definitely increases reaction time and you acquire rhythm.

Uh, yes! FFR does help with keeping the beat to songs and CAN help you with drums! I play drums and FFR has helped A BUNCH! If your good at FFR and want to play an instrument, play the drums and you will whoop all the noobies outta the park!

FFR allowed me to see in slow motion.
I'm working on getting good enough to just see the lady in the red dress without even trying. |

Piano is way more involved than FFR; the only thing FFR helps you in is reflexes and a better understanding of music rhythms. That and perhaps a bit of "social interaction" if you use the forums a decent amount. |

ffr is the devil!
hail ffr! but seriously my folks do that too... apparently i play a stupid finger game. they hate video games in general but they sit around and watch tv. in my opinion/experience there are a lot of intelligent people on ffr forums. i doubt so many zombified brains could produce the kind of intelligence and humor i have come to associate with ffr forums. it doesnt seem to me that the game is mindless at all especially compared to the subliminal propaganda spewing box aka tv. *jalena stomps on the breaks... -PERFERCT!- |

Honestly I doubt FFR helps you with anything other than playing FFR. Plenty of SM/ITG/FFR players are still klutzes in real life. I think these games just give you some music sense.
However, at least it is all an active activity as opposed to a passive one. Watching TV is too mind-numbing imo. |

ROFL "And I had perfect timing when I stopped" I am sorry but this made me laugh. I had this vision of an SUV whirring by and you avoiding it, followed by a huge flash of light coming out of nowhere: "PERFECT!" And then the owner of the SUV sticks his head out and looks at you, "Nice PA! Go for the FC!" Last edited by MrRubix; 09-19-2007 at 12:22 AM.. |
