1)What game, with two popular variants, is famous for having ivory pieces?
2)A four letter word and it's quite absurd how adding an s to the fore, Makes sound "er" from before now sound more like "or" and makes a weapon of war. 3)*EDIT* Chinese Takeaway*EDIT*(sorry i forgot to post the name of the game) When can less itches see cheese sizes? 4)E = C S = CC SE = CL SW = CCL WSW = ? 5)Remove six five-letter words. What's left? H E R M A N A N T H C O I A S A H G R P T S B T C be smart.. solve them first.

hmm
1. elephants: they're considered game, have ivory tusks, and have 2 variants: African and Asian 2. sword, although it isn't a weapon of 'war' 3. wtfh.. when you're high? 4. WSW=LCL (it's a guess, sry, not gonna waste time on it) 5. I agree with maka, unless you can use letters more than once

^^ N as in N for Nine as the sequence is:
One Two Three Four Five Six Seven Eight 1) Yes - Elephants 2) word? 3) I've heard this one before. You should tell people that the name of the puzzle is "Chinese Takeaway" or else they'll never get it. 4) CCLXXV The point of a compass in hundreds in Roman numerals. 5) Is this a trick? If so then left is the opposite of right (you asked what's left) |

a better question would be for you to write a formula that determines the nth line of said progression. |

I've worked out the answer to the 5th one, but rather than spoil it, here's what you have to do:
There are 6 five letter words hidden in straight lines in the grid similar to those word search puzzles. However, the words are all anagrams. When you have found all 6, cross off the letters that you have used and that will spell another 5 letter word which is the answer. I'll give you one to start you off: CHANT is vertical on the left hand side. |

well, for the five letter words one, first tried out harem, chair, bring, hosea, graph and chant, and that didn't work well...so then came up with all of the prior, except with pasch, and no hosea. then I was left with t a t o s, with which I made toast.

6) answer
to me, i could only get to "tie-ra-nose-something-something-wreck", but, that's enough to make tyrannasaurus rex (sp?) oh, and by the way, pasch is another word for passover/easter i think, didn't think of "chaps", lol -rockets
