Personally, I'm actually not all that happy about it. Granted, he wasn't a very good person (as a matter of fact, he was horrible) but even still, I worry about the effect it will play. The execution in ..a few ways can be viewed as a success (a minor one, truly, as we have one man, we have not quite served our ultimate purpose which is to re-establish Iraq.) but ultimately, it's just a small step. The execution could hold a strong penalty upon many in Iraq as civilians and supporters could revolt or riot due to this action. Each action holds a consequence and we have yet to truly see what the consequence of this will be, it may end up leaving us astonished. So am I happy with his execution? Not ultimately, but I guess it's something. Something to certainly be noted.

lol. leave it to FFR to give me the news. its really sad i learned it from here and not CNN. CNN will probably have this crap on for a long time.
By the way, Iraq wasnt in the greatest condition, so all in all it might have been a good thing for America to step in. However, dont forget we cant have the world run like the United States. Lately it seems if some part of the world doesnt run like US, they get some punishment. As a world power, United States should help the countries. All in all iraq is a bad example though, considering they stopped Saddam's executions to their own people. But even still, now they are in a worse condition because of rebellion forces. And with china on its way to becoming a higher world power than america in the next few years, then what? We wont have much say anymore. Of course im Canadian so i have unbiased views, yet from experience, lots of americans are one sided, so this argument really makes no sense to continue. **** wars, lets concentrate on global warming or something. |

Well, Bush asked for war, so he got war. And a good way to win war is to go for the opponent's leader......of course, Bush was about 2 years late. Moving on.
I think that what Bush didn't see is that Saddam has followers that can basically take his place. Captain Jack died, yet we still have those that support him, and he has a son to "take his place". So, unless Saddam's death deals a great emotional blow to the loyalists, the war is probably gonna get worse. |

By the way, in case you're retarded, what I just said was sarcasm. I do not feel that us occupying a country in civil war is better than Saddam being in power and killing people, and I don't see how anyone would. In one instance, Americans and Iraqis are being killed (the current situation) and in the other only Iraqis are being killed (Saddam being in power).

Also, I think it's deplorable that you would even want to see any video of that nature.

I read the first page and didn't bother to read the rest. He's not being executed for 9/11, he had nothing to do with it. Why do you think he's being executed in Iraq? He's being executed for his atrocities against humanity. His executions of over 100 (known) innocent people and his tyranny for two decades. This means he has most likely killed hundreds of people. Men in America get executed simply for raping 12 year old girls. You're all dopes, try READING something a bit more reputable than other 14 year old retards' posts on FFR before you make some more juvenile statements like that.
EDIT: Here's a condensed version I found - http://news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/ne...00/6217359.stm. Make sure you click the link "Click here to find out more about Saddam" on the page. Read then try and say he shouldn't have been hanged.

Okay, really. Stop it with these uneducated posts and "lol saddam sux! yay he died"
He got the punishment fit for the crime of killing people during his term. I don't know exactly how the rest of Iraq will react, though. Some will be very ecstatic because of his tyranny and it related to the deaths of their families, others, and there is a decent amount, stay loyal to him and may cause riots. There's also controversy because if the execution didn't happen today, and say happened tomorrow it would be during Eid ul-Fitr. That would cause just more mess for the islamic majority of Iraq, etc. Go watch the news. Much more there. |

The Iraqis gave him a fair trial. He failed to succeed in his trial and was sentenced to execution because of the 1982 murders in Dujair. I support his execution because there was evidence on which to hang him. The Saddam Regime killed many people and they nabbed him for one particular killing. The Iraqi government seems a tad harsh but he deserved it for what he's done. I haven't a clue what this is going to bring up. Those pro-saddam Iraqis will probably go crazy.

I don't support his execution.
I don't believe in the "eye for an eye" mantra. I am against killing, regardless of the reason.

but anyway... i dont support Saddams execution at all and hanging him wont achieve anything, it will probably make things worse. And I just think killing someone is wrong, doesnt murdering a murderer, make us murderers too? And it makes me pretty sick to see that theres a smile next to this post. Why is it ever good that someones dead... I dont doubt that Saddam was an evil man, but i still think executing him is wrong. Also, he had no connection to 9/11, dno where that came from... |
