FFR has improved my ability to read arrows that fly across the screen, lol. I don't think it's made me smarter. Also, it gave me RSI at 14 years old... not fair.

FFR has improved my reaction time drastically and my reading speed is so fast, I can read large novels in a day or two without whoring it. As far as getting smarter.... it just made me slack off in english. Will post report card later.

Wait... what?

Anyway, I think it really helps your hand eye coordination. I mean your brain sees the arrows on the screen. Your brain intreprets the arrows and sends the information to your fingers. Your fingers press the buttons which your brain has already memorized. Your brain tells your fingers to press those buttons. Now with people like Shash, he does that process like a super computer. That happens in like .0000003 seconds. Since a super computer does like 3 million calculations a second. Someone should get an extremly qualified Doctor person to analize FFR/DDR/ITG.

Dont know about FFR but heavy SM playing definitely develops your muscles responsible for lifting and bringing your fingers down, I can see rippling lines of muscles on my arm, not the upper arm. That would not be possible if not for SM since I don't do any particular exercises to develop those.

Acually FFR, DDR and many other games can make you smarter for instance: FFR/DDR helped me understand ratios better and i can write and type faster than every one else i know (Well almost every one!) but a vidio game can teach you definitions for sciance class to, Warcraft 3 Taught me what Metamorphisis is (Didn't teach me how to spell it though!) also video game keep you AWAY from your parents so i really don't see why parents HATE video games...

ffr for me has done a lot of things as mentioned before, music reading, ratios of music tempo, EXTREMLEY better hand eye coordination and time. FFR made me much better at soccer as now i play it everyday (yes even in winter) for hours after school. it makes me realize were everyone is on the field and were i can go, move my legs to control the ball, and yea.. its just better to play ffr then to not. o ya, if ur grades drop because of ffr, im sry but ur a nerd lol. u only need like 2 hours at the MOST on ffr per day.

If FFR gives you problems you need to slow down and play less.

I doubt it makes you smarter, but I know it makes me way better at DDR. After playing FFR for a while, I go play DDR, and blankly look at the arrows, thinking, "Why the heck are they moving so slow?"

ffr definitely has increased my typing and reading speed but other than that all it has done is made me sit on my ass for a few hours everyday while munching on candies (and somehow not gaining any weight)

I believe it helps with your reflexes and reactions to things. It also has helped me play violin and guitar faster. =]

having stronger finger muscles doesnt help you. yeah yeah insert joke here. FFR increases your reaction time ONLY in the harder songs, but they do help you hit the keys a little easier. Now you can hit the arrows like a pro. |

Great... all of these posts are very pointless and repetative. I have also noticed a spike in new members posting here because of this thread using poor grammar.
So to highlight everything everyone has said. 1. Most everyone is sure it doesnt make you smarter 2. A lot of people seem to think it helps with hand eye coordination while some have noticed little to no improvement 3. Some people are having problems with playing too much and their reality is turned around 4. There are better and more healthy ways of improving hand eye coordination than by sitting in a chair staring at a computer screen for hours on end only using the few muscles you have in your fingers to press 4 keys at the right time Im sure I missed something, but that is what has been said for the most part. So if you feel the need to post another useless comment such as but not limited to "FFR helps with my typing and hand eye coordination", then kindly keep it to yourself as it has already been said because it has become more than apparent that this has just become a post count booster thread. |

I actually do have a rather hard stretch of muscle or something on the top of my forearms.
