People should stop bashing other people for what they eat. What we eat is own own decision to make. Yes, it is natural for humans to be omnivores, and yes, some people choose to be vegetarians. Stop arguing about it because no one is going to win.
No one said that animals DESERVED to get killed, people are killing them so they can make a living, and provide the people food.

PS. silverdust800, you majorly fail in persuading. And please get some spelling lessons.

read the ****ing bible bitch. it says only animals of split hoof are to be eaten.
That's not the only rule about food in the Bible. According to the Bible, there's nothing wrong with eating turkeys, as long as you give 10% of your turkey up as a sacrifice. Oh, and unless it's a stolen turkey. Or if it is your neighbor's turkey that you're jealous of. Or if you were thinking about doing your neighbor's wife while eating it. Or if your parents told you not to. Or if you killed your parents before they could tell you not to, while ****ing your neighbor's wife and using the Lord's name in vain on a Sunday.

But who cares, Jesus made it okay to eat whatever you want. Just as long as you BELIEVE! =D And if you're Jewish then nobody cares. You guys are too picky about food.

In other news, I will only accept one answer for "why are you a vegetarian" as making any sense at all. And that is simply "I don't like meat", because other reasons like "it's mean to animals!" or "vegies are good for you ^__^" are pretty stupid if you think about it. =\

I only care if household pets are killed. Other animals? Don't care much, not my concern.

Thanksgiving I'd say!

I love meat; but I would cut down my intake of certain types of meat if I had readily available "meat alternatives" and many places to partake in them. Some of that stuff really tastes better than meat, believe it or not. I had this bean curd sesame chinese food, it was supposed to simulate sesame chicken. It was excellent. Not only did it taste better, but it also looked better.

But I still love my T-Bone steaks.

And seriously guys, why try to degrade ALL vegetarians. These two idiots deserve it, however, not all vegetarians are gung-ho vegan/anti-meat. A friend of mine even cooks meat for me and she's strictly vegetarian.

Moral of the story-

Who cares? Eat what you want to, you're all going to die one day anyway.

It's not like the animals are killed before their organs are taken.

Besides, we all know the meat is removed surgically.

Spec, my thing is that I think most people's reasons for being vegetarian are pretty dumb. It's like being an anarchist or any other thing that is just a really really really futile effort. They're not gonna change anything, and it's not exactly healthy, and those are the two most common reasons I hear.

Really though, I only get hostile with vegetarians if they get hostile with me. Some people seem to think that their way HAS to be right and will get all angry if you don't do it. Like this thread, it's all like ZOMG MEAT IS BAD YOU'RE ALL BAD FOR SLAUGHTERING TURKEYS! **** that, don't tell me I'm bad for eating meat, I will fight you. >=O

Vegans though, those people are just weird. I always have to ask them why they bother.

I agree, I said these two idiots deserved to be flamed for trying to impose their holier-than-thou vegetarian ideas on everyone else.

I love vegetarian meals too, some of the stuff is really good. BUT GIVE ME MEAT.

I'll eat whatever I want to. So should you.

Ya, cause they just go nuts with a chainsaw and split them in two so they can rip out their intestines. Organs are removed after they're killed, moron. Animals that are harvested for meat are killed painlessly and quickly. You just talk about the extremists that get off on torturing things.

Well if that's how you think then why don't you go join PETA? You arsonist, go firebomb a building.

Yeah, the "moral" thing is pretty effed up.

Also, silverdust said that they only feed the animals really little before they send them off to get killed. That's NOT true. Farmers usually SPOIL the animals until they get so overstuffed because they want to get the animals as big as possible. I think that animals who are raised to be food live a pretty darn good life before they are killed. They don't have to worry about food supply, because they basically eat as much as possible. They have a nice place to stay warm, and they also socialize with their own kind (even though they do suffer the same fate). They're nice, fat and happy. Farmers don't mistreat the animals in anyway, because no one wants to eat a effed up piece of meat.

Not to mention they're killed right at the prime of their life, meaning they don't have to experience old age. The complete ignorance of "moral" vegetarians never ceases to amazing me.

Veal.

Also: poultry are often not treated very nicely.

Poultry are inexpensive and massive in quantities. If a species can live hours, even days without it's head attached that says multiple things about it. It doesn't have the capacity to have feelings or emotions. It runs off of basic instincts, love not included.

So you'd rather be killed at the prime of your life than live to see old age?

Most animals aren't treated very nicely before they're made into food, and like Afro said, veal is the perfect example.

Because animals care about how they're treated.

You DO know they gas kittens because nobody eats them and there are too many in the world, right?

So, would you rather eat a chicken or have it gassed to death? Either way, it's not going to be "happy".

Now replace that with a human that has eaten meat all his/her life. Would you feel sorry for that person?
