Someone needs to come up with an acronym for that thing where you want someone to go away, and never talk again.

Ok, on to some more deep flameage.
A.) You go to a private, religion based school. Parents send their children there for the sole purpose of having religion forced upon them. You have several plans of action. -Spend all your time pissing off your teacher by taxing their no-doubt weak knowledge of the formation of the earth, and it's containing societies. -Get your parents to put you into real school. -Submit. That's what stupid people do. B.) I'm sure he was trying to create some amount of negativity to the reality of world views by giving them cute numbers. There is in fact a word for "world view 1". Secular: A nation is less secular, when the nation's laws/immigration/population/general governmental outlook are less seated in the religious views upon which they were founded. The problem with this is westernization/modernization forces nations to move slowly toward more secular views. You'd be hard-pressed to find a person in the US that feels that Satanism is equally as right, or acceptable a religion as christianity- regardless of whether or not their nation's constitution tells them to. The US's forefathers were probably trying to create a nation that would be able to deal with changes in religion/world powers/technology. on paper they were very successful, but in reality- the US will never be truly secular if it's government remains in place. A most prevalent example of that today is gay marriage, underlying christian views outweighed what the constitution says. True, the government has successfully kept the majority of people happy, but in doing this it makes it harder and harder to modernize. "Seperation of Church and State" does not exist in the US's documents word for word, it is an interpretation of "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...." Turning that into Seperation of Church and State is interesting, because though one would think of it as a way to enforce secularism within the state, it has little more than placebo, and a visual effect. Even if explicitly the religion is not there, the underlying beliefs will be. Wow, I don't think you deserved all that, but whatever. |

You are going to a private school. They have the right to "spiritually guide" you as much as they want. If a public school were forcing religion on you; or attacking religion senselessly, then there would be problems. but in private school they just have to fulfill certain government or collegeboard examination preparations and then whatever else they want will be taught.

Edit: And many people convert from atheism to agnosticism or agnosticism to a religion as they get older in their lives. It does not always happen but it is quite natural for an agnostic to start believing a God very well does exist at around 35. It's the same with conservative politics. Are you really naive enough to think all Christians are just Christian because they were brainwashed from birth?

Ignoring the current conversation, I'd have to say this is your parents' fault for sending you to an Anglican school. Blame your parents, not the nun.

You're just a part of the typical 'I'm better than you because I can accept the bleak nothingness of death' atheist crowd. Why don't you grow up and actually do some personal searching into religion before you take such a headstrong direction.
