Viedo games, TV shows, books, comics, movies...all have to do with media. On the base of the fiction area, hundreds of characters fight off their enemies, or just relax to their life. But what if those characters meet and interact with each other? Lets say I get the two best fighters from different anime shows and make them meet each other. Would they be partners for life? Or would they fight to the death to each other? This area cannot be reached by man, but by the heart, the mind, and the soul. No one knows this, for then and now the fantasy world has been safe. They go with their lifes, meeting other people from other places, still fighting off their enemies (which has teamed up to conquer), and loving other people. This place I call is the Digital World*.
*Still working on the title. Do you think it would be a good book?

This looks exactly like a crossover fanfic.
Rather, this IS a crossover fanfic. Well, I remember reading one a while ago that actually was quite good. The thing is, with copyrighted characters, there's the issue that their personality is either already set in stone or that they're already at the end of their story; if the author writes an ending correctly, VERY FEW of their dynamic characters will have a purpose anymore. The characters will just be personalities with nothing left to live for anymore (and thus, the author can kill them off without repercussions). So if you start with several personalities, you will have to develop them a LOT. Make that one of the main focuses of your writing. DO NOT try to just put characters in another world and play out the same scenario. Character development, character development, character development. The people you pick (heroes, etc.) should develop their OWN, NEW personalities based on events. This is just my opinion, though. It has potential if you do it right. Oh, and I don't understand the last four sentences, sorry. |

Besides the fact that if you can't even write a haiku, how on earth will you be able to write a longer story.

Here's a tip: read Neil Gaiman's 1602 or Kurt Busiek's Marvels(If you are seriously considering this, then you really should read these first), which are not just another "first we fight each other then we become best buds and save the world together" story.
Like psychic25 said, using characters that are not your own could create a problem. Everyone views these characters in a different way, and they might not agree with your portrayal of them. Almost anyone can drop a few characters in a free-for-all / team-up-to-save-the-world situation. In order to be successful, you need to come up with a theme and find out what each character you write about represents. |

Personaly I would find the story boring as bloody hell. Now if you used that creative little thing in your head to come up with your own characters, then the story might be worth reading.
