1000 wives.... kinda taking away from the rest of the male population, right? And its not like he can please more than 3-4 a night... figure 2-3 times a year per wife, at most. That wouldn't be too much fun.

Plus... that shopping bill has got to be WAY out of control.

I guess this thread switched from mayan predictions to christian prophecies (sp?).

..anyways

It really does seem like they're trying to scare people into becoming christian. It was all one big warning that bluntly meant "become even more christian or die a painful death." IMO.

The weirdest part is that we were given the choice to enter any religion we are comfortable with, but with most of us being born christian and the first commandment being "thou shall hath no other god." It's very limiting unless you make your own decisions, which by then you're usually too old and cemented into your relgion that you're not willing to change.

That's been bothering me for awhile...

I was talking to my friend about it and she said she learned that there would be an Anti-Christ for 7 years and everyone who followed God's word would be led into heaven while the rest had to stay on Earth for the Anti-Christ, where 1/3 of the people die and the ocean turns into blood? I think.

Where did your friend learn this? And from whom did your friend learn this? In 7 years would the anti-christ be born? Or would the anti-christ come to power? Who is this Anti-christ guy really? Is he the Son of God or is he the Son of Satan? Or is he just some guy? Is he a bad guy? Or is he a good guy? Would he even be a he? Wouldnt the anti-christ be a women? Anti in what sense?

Where does the Bible talk about the anti-christ? I want to know where.

She went to catholic elementary/middle school and learned it there I guess. She didn't tell me details, but she said they said the Anti-Christ would rule for 7 years and it would be the end of the world...or something.

I agree with Freed!!! Left behind is pretty much a watered down version of Revelations. Revelations is the last book in the bible and is well known for its prophecies of the second coming. Its hard to read and many things can be interperated (sp?) in entirely the wrong way. Left behind has simply made Revelations easier to understand. It is in no way a kids book. I haven't read the books, but ive seen the 1st two movies, some of the concepts are really scarey! Left behind is the story of a man that didnt believe in Christ and when the Lord was taking people to heaven, he was left behind for the 7 years of trials tribulation. This is where the ani-Christ comes in.
Think about the name Jewpin...ANTI-Christ, meaning against Christ. Obviously its not going to be the Son of God for 2 reasons.
1. Christ IS the son of God....the ONLY son of God!
2. Even if God did have another son, do you honestly think he'd send him down to go AGAINST Christ?
The 7 years of the Anti-Christ refers to the 7 years he is in power for. There wouldnt be much point in having "7 years of the Anti-Christ" if it was the first 7 years of his life. We all know that not many people pay much attention to a 7 year old kid, and certainly no-one takes orders from one!
Its all in Revelations...or to make it easier reading...i strongly suggest the Left Behind series.

I was looking at the 7 years part and the name "George W. Bush" popped into my head.
Strange, isn't it? </justkidding>

Reading this stuff makes me want to listen to my Relient K albums.

Default Anti Christ?

?

So... Actually, I personally think that what you're thinking as the "Anti-Christ" is sort of a making by people. They create it. Jesus is the messiah, right? So, when he came, everything was better. According to the Jewish Bible, when the messiah comes, there will be no war, no hurt, and everything will be peaceful. So, how come alot of rappers wearing "bling," that includes a crusifix, mind you, are cursing all over the place? I believe that the moment Jesus left Earth, if Jesus left Earth (I don't know alot about this Jesus guy, I'm jewish if you could tell.) Everything WENT WRONG, and the Anti- Christ was built, and is still being built, essentially. I don't think this "Anti-Christ" is a person, I think it is an accumulation of ideas within the human race that creates a hate for a stereotype and thusly kills alot of people.

As I said, mind you, I do not know alot about Christianity, and I personally don't believe in Hell. I think Jesus was a cool guy and stuff, and I'm definitely not stereotyping christians as rappers who curse all over the place wearing bling. Stereotyping Is the way to the "Anti Christ" I'm just saying that everyone, Christian or not, is going to dig ourselves into a hole with the shovel called religion. THAT is what I think is this "Anti-Chirst."

But personally....

I don't believe any of this will come to pass.

Stop being paranoid.

Uhh....Jewpin...i did say revelations.
"Its all in Revelations...or to make it easier reading...i strongly suggest the Left Behind series."
As for the Anti-Christ not being a person...im not 100% sure as i havent been able to sit down and read revelations myself, its a really heavy read, but i think it does say in there that it is a person. And im also not 100% sure about this, but im pretty sure that the bible doesnt mention anything about the war and stuff STOPPING when Jesus came, i mean, there were wars and excecutions and everything still happening while he was ON earth! So the problems didnt just start when he left.

I'm not even going to pretend to know passages or books, but I'm fairly certain the actual prefix "Anti-" and the word "Christ" do not ever appear together in The Bible. There's talk of what we call the Anti-Christ, but not in such a simple term.

I think.
