[quote="Verruckter"][quote="blahblah18"]I used to respond that I doni hate when people say that love is too powerful to describe with words.

here are some films--
"in the mood for love" by Wong Kar-wei
or if you want oldschool- "Casablanca"

some poetry
"braiding" by Li-Young-Lee
"the river merchant's wife" by Ezra pound
"sonnets for the portuguese" by elizabeth browning (oldschool)
shakespeare

some short stories
O' Henry
"What we talk about when we talk about Love" by Raymond Carver

also the age thing annoys me. With respect to all of the authors I just named. When they were 4 they knew more about love than anyone on this message board ever will.

What are your ideas on love? wow......love is a magical and beautiful thing its like a spirit you can't see it but you can feel it.....

What is love to you? love to me is what I said about true love.......

Can you love two people at once? no to me thats morally wrong unless your loving your parents or family now thats different

What is "True Love"? True Love wow I don't think there is a single definition to true love....my definition of it is when two people a man and a woman are happy together and can express their love for one another through feeling and interact....sometimes love can be defined by simple saying I love you....love is a diffulcult thing to understand but I think I might have found it....with my boyfriend.....I love you Franky *my boyfriend*

How can you tell if it is or if it isn't? simple its when your mind and heart both agree

*tears* Beautiful. Perfectly put.

I get pretty annoyed when in profiles I see "I love you (insert name here)!" when the person has been going out with the other for about...a day...or even a week. It bothers me more if they're like...14 years old. It bothers me if they're a tool, and they're whipped, and they think they're in love just because the person gives them attention when they do whatever they tell them to do. These people don't have the maturity to handle anything similar or related to love. They should probably be shot...well..not really, but you get the point.

If you're young and mature for your age, there's a possibility you might be able to comprehend love if the occassion arises. To do anything to stay with the person you have, to care about them, respect them, be comfortable around them, and have the most sincere affection for them that you could ever have...that's love. It's a great feeling to be in love with someone and them to love you back, although love can be the biggest pain in the ass. (Unrequited love). It's something you definitely have to work on.

omg quote from movie 4u

Romances. They're shooting stars, a spectacular moment of light in the heavens, fleeting glimpse of eternity, and in a flash they're gone.

Pretty true, great movie, too. Go watch The Notebook.

This is a subject thats hard for me to really comment on becuase i could go on for days or even years about what love is to me. i know many people have yet ot even grasp the concepts of love and boast about how much they love their new boyfriends of a week, or even a month, and that is not love. Love is deeper than that, Love is proabably the most Vunerable things on the planet, It is pact with trust, and pain. Its when you can get into the biggest fight of your life and then kiss and make up and act like nothing happen. When you woudl give up anything and everything and live on the streets so your love can have the world. love is when nothing but the other person and their happiness seems even remotely relivant. Love is about who you could never see yourself without, not who you could see yourself with. When no matter what flaws your lover may have they are still perfect in your eyes. Its when you get up in the morning and dont have to worry about what you look like becuase you know your going to be beautiful to them anyway. love is when your not afraid to cry in eachothers arms, but scared to let them see you hurt becuase you know its hurts them.. love is all of this, and so much more.. its such a sensitive but fullhearted and passionate thing. Increadibly vunerable, but ever more strong. Not only is it a mental state of mind but when you are really in love, you get a feeling a true and physcal feeling in your chest like a pressure, but at that moment you can feel it the love, the special tingle.. its amasing.

Love is insulting your partner's faults so they lose their self-confidence and become even more dependent of you.

Some advice to guys on love: If a girl ask you how she looks in jeans, don't say "Man, I've never seen a bigger ass... And I used to be an elephant hunter."

Even though you're kidding (I know I was), that's a good way to get someone to leave you alone in a huff. Love is never having to say you're sorry? Well, fine. Then it's not love, cause I apologized a lot after that.

It's an age old expression dating back to when people before use were trying to pin what love really was. Then they made a comic strip about it that had some naked cherubs, called "Love Is".

I'd say Aristotle or Plato. All the same.

Also, derangedmonkey18, Up above in the posts on page 1 and 2 they were also talking about how most kids at ages 10-14 or 15 don't understand love and that they are'nt mature enough. So i said He, I've liked the same girl since 2nd grade and i'm 13 so that i was only trying to prove that i am mature enough to know what love is (not trying to get into detail)

either way, you saying that your in love becuase youve had a crush on a girl since 2nd grade proves even more so that your to immature to begin to grasp the concepts of love..

Though what I have to say does not have anything to do with this topic...upon glancing at your sentence Sera, I though you wrote out:

"either way, you saying that your in love because you crush a girl with you bare hands in the 2nd grade..."

I have no idea how this sentence formed in my head...but it was hilarious. My brain is hilarious.

I get underestimated often to a lot. I hate that. Either people have to high of aspectations for me becuase of my brother of or they underestimate me becuase I don't fullfill there aspectations for me.

Usually after posting something, whenever I return to that topic I find my last post incredibly stupid. I found my last post really stupid, sorry.
