My biggest fear would have to be very deep water... Even though I am an excellent swimmer (swim team 9 years, water polo, etc.) I am very scared to go swimming in a lake. When you look into the water, you see it getting darker and darker, and it just freaks me out. I also have a fear of high, windy places. I'm fine with needles and blood and the like. Just deep water and high, windy places freak me out.

Death.

That and living an unfulfilling life. I see all these people that go to college and get a nice job and whatever, but they just aren't happy, and their lives are lame. They chose the money path. Man, the things studying Japanese has done for me... I never want to be one of those people who just works to upgrade their status of living. I never really did like that lifestyle anyways. It always seemed ridiculously stupid to me. I mean, designer furniture? Come on. I can buy a couch at a garage sale for like $20 that is super cofy and awesome. So what if I might have to go over it with the vacuum a few times and spray some febreeze or whatever on it. God, what a huge, freaking waste.

It's hella scary. AND IT'S RIGHT UNDERNEATH OUR FEET. You can't escape it...unless you happen to be on the Moon where there is no volcanic activity....but it's not like you can stay on the Moon forever.

Earthquakes are scary too. Well, not really. I'm actually somewhat use to Earthquakes having lived near the San Andreas fault my entire life. But it would totally suck to have something fall on my face while I'm in bed during an Earthquake.

Honestly though, I cant say I fear death. I figure, if I die, then I wont really care that I am dead, because...well, I'm dead.

I fear the things that would make my life uncomfortable.

Wow, that pretty much sums me up.

I'm not afraid of scary movies, but after watching them, I'm always EXTREMELY paranoid.

I'm afraid of spiders also.

I'm also very afraid of killing small things, like bugs. I CANNOT stand to mash anything bigger than, say... a fruit fly or something, with a napkin. I'll swat flies with a flyswatter, but I do not want to pick up the body. My head starts spinning and I get dizzy.

I don't know why. It's an ungrounded fear, as I've never been stung by a "dead" bee or anything (you know, when they're floating in a pool and you go near it, it suddenly comes to life and stings you).

Heights. Love rollarcoasters, planes and things like that, but not looking over a balcony, or top of a ladder.

Im sorry, I have a more realistic fear. Im not harping on your fear, because it is a possibility...but at least it would be over quickly, its just eh anticipation that would get me on that one. However, my biggest fear is burning alive. Im a pyro at heart, which is wierd cause nothing seems more painful than having the flesh burned from your bones and being awake to feel most of it...that and electrocution. I fear electricity because I've SEEN someone cook before. It blew his arm off, and if that wasnt bad enough he didnt die from the loss of his arm. He died from internal 3rd degree burns that slowly developed over a week - which is to say that he continued to cook...sit on that one.

I used to fear death, but I look at it like this now. If there is an aterlife, at least Im going somewhere, but if not, then it no big deal - consciousness will not exists. Its been said energy and not be destryoed OR created, that it, like the FF "mana stram" continuously flows and gets absorbed into other things...so if you look at it like htat - religeous or not - you'll live forever. The other way I kind of look at it is - there IS a way to be omnipresent. You exist only to those who know you. On the board we are tnothing but the sum of your words and ideas...binary digits rearranged into readable ASCII. For all I know none of you exist (see also principle of epistemic closure and theory or alternate relatives). . However, I am pretty sure you do or I wouldnt get a custom response in return. So, I figure that the more people who KNOW you and remember you, you exist to them, therefore your existance carried on through them. Now, if they forget you, the less places you exizst. Its almost sacreligeous, but not really (in that God is omnipresent and thinking of it that way is thinking of being like God - kind of runs in the old LDS thought of existing through your children so have lots of them)

Im not scared of spiders, but I dont see their purpose since many many other things eat their food...why have something so physically hideous...I am TERRIFIED of Japanese Hornets though....don't know what they are....look em up....those are some mean and learning hornets, they figure out weak points on anything...like they attack humans and cown in their eyes. A group of 10 can completely kill off a hive of 30,000 bees in under 2 hours...thats some crazy shit...fucking commandos...if you can find the video - you'll understand the fear much much more

Really? it seems like a lot of you fear death. I do not fear death, I only fear the way I die as in like a car accident or murder or freezing to death. Or burning to death. Probaly becuase I fear pain which is mainly one of the reasons why I fear bees.

Anyway I think I agree with alot of people on the fears of death... you dont fear death but the idea of dying early or painfully. Luckily i know how im going to die, Im going to be an old man, about to go anyway, sitting in an old recliner eating tons of ice cream and watching porn.

Of course i feer rejection, but that is something you can get over... but if a guy broke into my house i would rather he kill every rahter than kill everyone but one person...

I also agree with senate7377 about the bee, wasp and hornet thing... UgH

Logan

P.S. its been a long time since ive posted, so i hope this is still the nice place that it used to be... I cant believe jewpin is still here...

lol, I've looked up stuff about the Japanese Hornet and it was pretty wierd stuff. They don't usually kill people but they shoot some sort of venom with and enzyme from their stinger into you when your stung. It also said that at least 42 people die each year in Japan becuase of the hornet. People who have been stung and lived by it said it was excrutiating. It was like a hot nail going through their leg they commented. Yikes...now all the more reason to fear bees. Good thing I don't live in Japan or the area in which the bees are located in some mountain region.
