To get slightly off topic (if this is ), I dreamt that I was shot in the head three times, and I didn't die. But I should've, instead I just got right back up. In another dream, I knew I died, I could see myself lying on the ground, but I wasn't looking at myself, if that makes sense. I heard that when you die in a dream, your mind believes it and your susposedly susposed to die in real life.
I was wondering if there was a website that could give me even a slightly accurate interpretation of what my dreams might mean, since dreams are triggered by something subconsiously, most of the time. I have had some pretty strange dreams, and I just want to know what might of made me dream them. ![]() |

If you keep a notebook by your bed and write DREAMS on it in big red letters... or put something on your ceiling, when you wake up, you'll most likely remember to record it... and you can get into a habit of remembering your dreams.
I believe that's the first step towards Lucid dreaming. I have Lucid dreams quite often... most of the dreams I remember are Lucid dreams... obviously I can't really tell you what the rest are cause I don't remember. I took a dream log once for a long time... I started off with maybe 1 dream every week... by the end of it I was remembering at least 5 dreams out of every week. It can be very interesting. However, if you quit logging, you'll start forgetting them again very quickly. You have to remember to remember the dream... and it can be hard without a reminder. I can't stand it when I do stuff like wake up and get ready for school... then wake up in real life and realize I'm late.

Okay, maybe it's because if you haven't experienced the best part of your dream in real life then your body cannot keep itself in the dream because it doesn't know how to show it. I can't find the right word to use to explain it.

A lot of times, I have falling dreams. From what I have heard, most people wake up just before they hit the ground. Well I normally hit the ground and pretty much jump out of my bed. One timeIi was asleep in a chair when I did this. My dog was next to me and it tried to bite me when I jumped

I used to have those falling type dreams when i was younger. I was dead afraid of heights back then, but now i'm not, so maybe that has something to do with it. I'd always be climbing a very tall ladder or high rope, and then it would start swinging around for some reason, then i'd fall for 20 seconds or so and like you said, wake up a second before i hit the ground. What's weird is when i woke up from them, i'd always have a feeling in my stomach like i had fallen from a height. Interesting.
On the subject of lucid dreams, i did have a dream like that once that i remember, but usually when i'm dreaming and think "hey, wait, this isn't real, i'm just asleep" i just wake up. |

I had a lucid dream once. I was being chased by a dog that wanted to tear me apart. Much like some of you folks. Anyway, this dog was chasing me and I couldn't run away fast enough. I turned around to stare at my own death. It was approaching at a frightening pace, it was moving too fast. The dog wasn't running it was rolling on wheels?! The dog had wheelchair type wheels instead of legs! HUH...,I thought to my self. I soon realinzed that I was asleep because this clearly was impossible. The only thing I could think to do was jump up, but this jump was superhuman. Of coarse this is a dream, I laughed. Suspended in the air much like a rock doesn't. The rolling chair dog was angry with me for escaping it's torture, Barking and snareling at me with rage, razor sharp fangs exposed with acid drool falling sickingly onto the ground. I thought to myself, "How do I know his drool is acid?", no matter. I was god now and this abomination would leave my sight immedeately. I raised my hand towards the foul beast and lightning arced the distance between us. It was writhing in pain, cooking to death, and I enjoyed it. Very, very, much. Just as I began to think about all the other cool less violent things I could be doing I woke up.
I really don't know why we have to f* ken wake up at the best part of our dreams but I hate it. Man I was so depressed after that. I was a GOD for a good 30 seconds it felt like. I Had the power and imagination to do ANYTHING. I could have explored the universe, traveled in time, destroyed the world. Now I am nothing and I remain nothing. A worthless, anonomous dung heap. It's probably a good thing I don't have super powers. That would definitely be bad for most everyon other than me.

Often times when I wake up at the best part of my dream, I'll just look around, see what time it is and then go right back into it.

PS: All my dreams are lucid dreams, pretty much. Every since I learned to not be scared of things (there was this show that freaked me out and gave me nightmares, then I realized it's all in my head and I could control it so I stopped being afraid) I've been able to control my dreams. I never really take advantage of this, but it turns out that in all my dreams I never die because I always pull a sword out of nowhere and kill the murderer person of the nightmare.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright. And I write the blog for their website. Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O |

awww... everyone can somehow lucid dream...
I can't, mind you. My dreams are like movies: sometimes I see different camera angles of myself and not realize it Actually, when I dream I accept the reality of it. If I'm trapped in a glass-filled room with a murderous flying chicken with a sword, then so be it. I never manage to question the dream until I wake up. Then I realize how horribly stupid that was... Perhaps dreams are the way that the brain sorts out information that happened... kind of like your computer's defragmentation program. although that doesn't seem to explain why I had that recurring green bell pepper dream... There was also this dream that I had, where my friends were going to go and play capture the flag... in Newfoundland... so I ask if I can come along. Not too sure what happened afterwards cuz i woke up. Maybe I'm just really weird. |

I remember most of my dreams. Somthing that bothers me though is how come with some dreams you forget them within 10 minutes of waking up. Somtimes i tell myself to "remember that dream" then i forget the dream but remember telling myself to remember and getting annoyied that i hadnt rememberd the dream. I love dreams, closest i get to escapeing. Has any one read "John Dies at the End"? Its a story on the internet, its awesome. The link is in the litrature forum, anyway i mention the story becuase in the book this guy says:
"You had this one early this morning, in the middle of the thunderstorm-" "-In the dream, you were back with your girl Tina..." "-and you come home, and she's there with a big honkin' pile of dynamite. One of those big cartoon plunger detonators, ready to blow. You ask her what she's doin', and she says 'this' and shoves down the handle and," he spread his hands in the air. "Boom. Your eyes snapped open. The explosion in your dream became the clap of thunder outside your window. So tell me, mon. Am I close?" "-You see, you gotta ask yourself, mon. You gotta be brave to ask the scary questions. How did your mind, David, know the thunder was coming?" "-The thunder came right as she dropped the plunger. Your mind started the dream thirty seconds before the thunderclap. How did it know it would be coming at that moment, to coincide with the explosion at the end?" I just copyied what the one guy said. I think its a very good extract. It has happened to me. Many times before

I like never remember my dreams. When I do remember them is when someone wakes me up. It is probably because the dream wasn't finished with its cycle. We learned something about dream cycles in health. When they end naturally you wake up in the middle of the night. Dream cycles vary in length. They can last hours or 30 minutes. When you wake up every 10 minutes you are experiencing short dream cycles or you have excessive amounts of sugar/caffeine in your body and have too much stored energy. REM is another reason why you don't always remember your dreams. I forget what REM stands for but it is a very deep sleep. If you fall into a heavy sleep fast your likely to not remember your dreams as your brain begins filing the days information quickly. If you slowly fall asleep and have prolonged dreams you will most likely remember them.
Yea....I only remember dreams that something good was going to happen but then I get woken up or fall off the couch or something.
