Out-of-Body-Experiences (OBE) they exist? Currently i am reading a book on such phenomina called Astral Dynamics By Robert Bruce. I have only been reading it for a few hours last night and another hour today. But because of my reading i have learned that OBE are infact real ana can be controlled through much practice and some trial and error.
Be warned though, although I am only 16, this book is definetly for higher college levels (I liberated it from my 21 year old brother). And if you are offended by some religious (primarily New Age) stuff, read cautiously...

Better question: why is it much easier to make people believe that the paranormal (like this) is real than it is to make people believe that God is real?
Surprising. |

What Georgey forgets is that God has no physical manifestation- the act of lifting does not apply to him.
OBE sound false to their core. Imagination is VERY strong, so much so that it is a recorded fact that you can create your own false memories with imagination, and anyways, if your mind was seperated from your body you wouldn't be seeing the scene from a third-person view with full functional human eyes exactly like your body contains- you would have no eyes, be unable to process color anyways, and even if you claim that you "sense" the scene and later translate it to memories, that's called imagination. That's what imagination is- sensing something that is not actually there. |

But, what about the astral dimension and the first-person projections?
And Chakra? any noobcake that reads naruto would know about that.... Energy centers in your body that if used properly induce trance-like states that couldnt really be imagination.... Screw it, now I'm just trying to sound smart...

Holy Spirit lives within us, God forgives, and God wouldn't have to lift the rock. He'd have all his people do it for him. TO BE MORE LIKE GOD I WILL: Attempt to acheive dominion over the entire universe OR Kill the firstborns of all my enemies!
Ok, so other than the Holy Spirit, I think that the energy stuff is BS. The only energy going through me are electric and caloric in nature. Purely anatomical. Anything else is pushing it. And the TO BE MORE LIKE GOD stuff is a joke. Please don't take offense at it. Q |

Sorry about all that. Lately I've been letting emotion sink into my posts more and more. That's all I wanted to say, and I know it's off topic, but hey. I'll work on it. Sorry again.

Narcolepsey is a sleeping disorder that does that. My grandmother will conjure up complete days that never happened, or she will fall asleep and dream the ending. It will be totally different, but completely real to her. I would think that that is a step it the direction to what you guys are talking about, but I much prefer string theory over these theories.

Why has God converted more than the paranormal? The human desire for purpose and love. God gives us all a purpose to live for. He loves us.
Polytheism and monotheism can be traced back to the problems of the society that came up with the Gods. Most "primitive" societies conceived of polytheism as a way to help understand the world. It's a simplistic way of seeing how everything is seperate but connects (Chronus and Gaea). The beliefs reflected upon the society's desire to explain their surroundings (The straight of Gibralter) and really doesn't give the follower a reason to live. Most the time the gods are not all powerful deities. Monotheism is different. It supports one god who is often all powerful and loving, unlike polytheistic gods. The gods of monotheism tend to appear during the times of early cities growth. The god is conceived as a way of teaching morality and goodness to the people who have "gone astray". That's what I believe. I think that God was rediscovered by the people of Israel and spread throughout the people of the world in a great awakening. NOTE: Allah and God are the same, so most major monotheistic religions worship the same God. That right there is interesting enough. Ok, if any of that made sense, good. If not, well, I'm tired. Oh, and God's documents. Qu'ran, Jewish books, Mormon books, the of course, the Christian books (yes, there are more than one). Q |

People, did you manage to skip the CT rules? You're supposed to use facts and support your statements. No one sentence posts. It really isn't all that hard.
Oh, and citation for the last post. Guns, Germs and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies by Jared Diamond and the inferrences one can make after understanding it. Q |

Paranormal occurences happen so infrequently that they're still considered anecdotal, their being "well-documented" is questionable, and the evidence for them is about as solid as diarrhea. Whether or not what evidence exists for them is more convincing than evidence for God is another thing, but to take such little evidence for fact is just naïvete.

Alternatively, you could head over to http://www.randi.org and check out the "Skepticism and the Paranormal" forum and try your luck there. However, I'd do a search first, because whatever you offer up as proof has probably been examined before. |
