Right? I want to be living in a comfortable home, own my corvette (I WILL have one some day) and hopefully loving my career of being a Computer Science Professor.

Live in a secluded area with plenty of walking area, like BC, or someplace with mountains/tons of places to explore, with a lady (Lindsey), with a house that we've both designed and mostly built ourselves, gardening our own food maybe.

Realistically speaking, I work the rest of my life, raise a family, and die.
Ideally, I feel secure enough to quit my job and launch my own company doing what I've always wanted to do: Make video games. And again, ideally, they'd be enjoyed by many and I could feel content knowing that I'd finally created what I dreamt amount for so many days as a little kid. Just a dream, though -- and not likely to happen. I need a team (of high talent and similar vision) and I don't know how to gather people / arrange that kind of team, so the whole thing will likely remain a dream. Otherwise my main hope is that I get through life happily/healthily. |

Retired. Hopefully be married and have a kid or two by the time I turn 30 (got 5 1/2 years left) and cheer him/her on during a soccer match.

60's not THAT old, I really don't understand why so many people are expecting to be dead (even with health conditions). Medicine/health care will continue to advance, and life expectancy will go up. 'Realistically', most of you guys probably won't be dead lol
As for my ideal scenario, I'll hopefully have my PhD hanging from my wall, a beautiful, loving wife, and a successful child. I'm not quite sure where I'd like to live yet though... I'm happy in Florida, but we'll see how grad school influences me. I'd like to retire making at least six-figures and have enough saved to enjoy my retirement. Assuming 60 is when I retire, and I hadn't done so by then, I'd probably travel the world a bit. Europe, Australia, Japan... That'd be nice. All of this is pretty realistic for me too (thankfully). Anything more than this would be gravy. |
