Hi all. I could explain things more, but I'll be brief. Is my stats sig readable or not? For me, if I view it at home it looks fine. The crater background is basically a light grey and the black text is readable on it. But from here at school/work, it's a darker grey, maybe even shading towards purple, and the black text is almost unreadable to me. I've seen this sort of color issue here before so I want to know how it looks to everyone else. If a bunch of people can't read it, I'll try to lighten it up later. If it looks fine to others, I'll just leave it and say it's my computer's problem. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Uhh that problem is due to your gamma. Its too high (or too low..i dunno) and it fucks up the colours.

Hmm. Well, I just did a quick web search and found some tests of the png format alpha and gamma parameters and it does look like my browser here is failing at least some of the tests. That could certainly explain why my colors here sometimes look different from at home; different browsers and different OSes, too. So is the problem just the browser or is it something with the image I made? I was probably allowed to change some parameters before saving, but since I didn't know what they did I just left them all alone. (I was using GIMP, BTW.) If it's a problem with the image, maybe I can correct it. If it's the browser, there's nothing I can do.

Don't listen to Verruckter, it has nothing to do with your gamma (and it would be too low if it was). Gamma has to do with your personal brightness on your monitor, you can't change the gamma of a specific object because its going to turn up different on everybody's PCs anyway.
And it's readable for me. If anybody can't read it because they're stupid and have the gamma turned way down, they probably don't deserve to anyway since they know nothing about computers or whats good, but if they really cared they can ask you. |

I never said I did'nt see the text.... My gamma is perfect, and I can see his stats correctly.

Also, different browsers sometimes render random stats about images slightly differently (COUGH IE WITH PNG IMAGES COUGH) making them appear a bit different... it could be messing with the colours here. More than likely, it's just people with different gamma/brightness settings. I can read it just fine. But Anticrombie, not everyone with low gamma is stupid. My boyfriend had to use a rather old monitor for a long time, where the gamma wouldn't go any higher than... well, let's just say it was really really low. He wouldn't have been able to read the signature, not even close - and it wasn't even his fault.
