I'm not saying it because it's a stereotype. It's just that Romney's policies only really benefit you if you happen to be rich. Otherwise, you are voting against your own economic interests.

Yes, it's a massive number, but do you realize that the debt isn't a big issue right now? A huge, huge portion of it is basically money we owe ourselves (do you know how, say, trust funds like social security work and where the interest payments go from/to?). It's not the same (at all) as someone being in debt to, say, a credit card company.

If you want to actually net things out with respect to foreign holders, for every dollar of US debt that's owned by a foreign country, we own something like 89 cents of foreign debt.

Our debt is super cheap and the USD is the world reserve currency:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...Currencies.png

So if you're going to assess how much debt is good/bad, you need to do it with some context if you're going to defend your point.

How do you think he got his success in the private sector in the first place? Also, do you understand how private equity works?

Why do you think someone who has his particular experience is qualified to run a country? Do you think running a business and a company are comparable? Do you think the goals are the same, and how those goals are achieved?

Why do you think Romney's policies would result in rapid growth?

(I'm not asking these rhetorically. I'm asking you to defend your position)

Our situation isn't anywhere close to entering Greek territory...

Also, if you're going to talk about what Obama promised, it helps to look at what he actually said (see sources here): http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...nemployment-w/

Lastly, do you see how that upward trend in unemployment started before Obama even took office? What do you think finally allowed for the turnaround? Are you aware how spending is dictated, and how much of that spending was the result of pre-Obama legislature? If so, I find it hard to believe you'd be pinning Obama for this.

Obamacare isn't perfect, but it's actually better than what we've got. Anything further than that would have gotten cockblocked with our current system. Why do you think it'd increase the deficit? Do you understand the concept of risk pooling and how insurance works? Are you aware of how the cost distributions would differ and who'd they affect?

Do I have to bust out the data for this one or will you save me the trouble?

Don't you think we spend a little too much on the military right now?

And are you aware of the cost of the problems that have occurred as a result of needless interference? You say you dislike spending but you're OK with something like this at the expense of everything else?

Why don't you take a look at this and tell me what you think seriously needs to be cut:

In what way is faith important to you in a President? Do you think church and state shouldn't be separated? What "values/priorities" are you referring to? What are your views on things like gay marriage / abortion / death penalty / etc?

Maybe it's just because I live on the conservative side of Florida, and my FB News Feed is filled with #Romney2012, but I think the notion of it being 'close' will be probably be silenced by the time we hit the west coast.

same goes for anyone, esp. right now.

social issues are a big deal. they're just not nearly as time-sensitive as da economy. I think voters in the US need to be single-minded right now.

political arguments ahoy!

Huffington has it 124 to 154, Romney.

EDIT: FOX analysts just projected Obama to win PA -- 147 to 149, now.

EDIT: holy shit, the difference in votes in the state of Florida...

Based on the current electoral map, Obama's almost certain to win (mathematically/statistically speaking).

FOUR MORE BEERS

Halogen: Yeah Florida is pretty much a coin toss (quite literally around ~50% one way or the other)

From what I'm looking at on HuffPo, the most densely populated parts of Florida still need to be counted, and they're the ones trending in Obama's favor. They've got Romney up by 0.1% right now, but I don't think that will last.

EDIT: Anddddd now it's deadlocked at 49.6%, with Obama leading by a <2000 lol

If Romney doesn't win Florida, it's definitely over.

Anyone have an update on Virginia? What percentage of the votes are in?

It's going to be close, and yeah there is still more to count.

As an aside:
My predictions for the election had been
303 vs 235
OH, VA, CO, NV, NH, IA for Obama
FL, NC for Romney

If Romney doesn't win Ohio, it's way over.

edit: Virginia: Obama 47%, Romney 50% - 60% in
