When 12 Bar Bloops came out, I remember Dossar saying that it wasn't going to be AAA'd because of the ending patterns. Of course he did end up AAAing it himself on a lucky run relatively soon after that, and now it has 8
![]() The home key password box was pretty cool. For a while, you could play FotBB by using the password "fotbb" - I think this was actually the only way to play it for a short period after the release. When Captain Jack died (and one year after it) FFR released a special Captain Jack file that was available for a day or so. Synesthetic (FFR edit) used to have a really fast jumpjack at the very end. Eventually this got fixed - by adding a new version into the game. For a short period both versions of the file were playable, and eventually the old one got completely deleted (unlike most of the old secret/widget files, which were left on the site but put in the Disabled genre). The files for Skellybones and Dendrite were the result of a step contest held in early 2003. Dendrite was stepped by "Bryan B" and Skellybones by someone called "Pockets" who apparently didn't even have an account on the site. At the time, the FFR converter could only handle DWIs with constant BPM and nothing more complex than 16th notes, which is why Skellybones got offsync at the end. The FFR converter used to have an error which changed the positioning of a few jumps in certain files, notably Revolutionary Etude. That's why the patterns are different from the version released for Stepmania. There used to be an error in the converter that caused some files to have all red notes after a certain part (IIRC, a 12th or 24th would do it). EHHS and Grand Galop Chromatique were affected, and I think a few others. Quote:

Velocity after seeing how trashy this chart was, decided to troll the community and say if it was FCed it'd get in game permanently, and gave only a day to do it I think it is.
Dossar obviously rose the challenge. It was luckily kept out because this chart had 0 framer 32nd jacks... Well, among other... Numerous... Issues... Yeah I was a ****ing idiot. Last edited by Xx{Midnight}xX; 10-1-2012 at 10:37 PM.. |

What I'll choose to bring up was the addition of Force of Light as a "super secret" secret file. If you had enough credits, it would initially appear as if there was no song there...the song title was even displayed as "Not Available." However, the ability to select this song (as well as the fact that it was 13th in the list, thus creating a page 2) were giveaways for some people. Also, the usage of square tiles to select songs from the wheel. The FFR Community Engine still does this. |

New history, but still lost
Did you know Variations 2, Guitar sounds, Grist, and {Lazy Summer days} were all released at 1.5x rate? They were FGO, FGO, FSO/Brutal/Ridic, and Difficult rated then. |

I thought they were released at something stupid like 1.498% or something, or I'm just stupid, which is much more likely.

hmmm..... how about the old ffr widgets for all the artists including the ffrock for Disturbed and the simfile database. we could actually play other users files on here through resonance, even though there was a little lag.

Yeah it was something dumb like 1.48x
Who cares. It probably made a difference of 1-2 frames by the end of the file :P |

Oh, here's another one I remembered - if you managed to get the game to load a song from an empty spot on the menu, it would play the Tetris Remix chart. Occasionally people who hadn't played through all the songs thought that was some kind of secret.
We did do it recently, but it wasn't done for several years. |

I remember there was a working Kongregate application for FFR, however for several years now it's been disabled...
