That still doesnt seem to make sense seeing as it only affects a very vocal minority.
If it is a flash bug should it not affect all people using that engine on the specific standalone versions (being 11 / 10 / 9) |

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I'm suddenly not able to change my key setup in the velo engine (the normal one, not the '11 one), it's identical to how r^2 is, it says to press a key, but then nothing happens when I do.

Are you sure it's a minority? I think a lot of people have issues.

It all depends on computer specs, Flash only allocates a percentage of ram, so it'll differ per computer. When I play FFR I don't receive any lag at all, but I also have a gaming computer.

In which you could either a) recode and rework the engine to not cause this issue which is a pain in the ass b) tell people to upgrade their computers which is equally as silly of a choice. Quite the tricky issue to resolve it seems. When did this onset again? And yes bmah, I am quite certain it's a vocal minority. How many of the active players haven't complained? Thats the thing about vocal minorities they make their point loud and clear -- even if there are not too many of them. |

Precisely what? You have no statistical proof, so leave it at that.
Velo has pointed out that it's entirely dependent on your computer's specs, so as you've mentioned, pretty much the only fix now is to improve your own specs with an upgrade. Now for a flash game like this, that's pretty unwarranted unless FFR is your sole compassion. At least I can somewhat get used to the Legacy engine. |

I just tried out Flash 10 and it's working fine for me now. I might get a choppy run, but the restart button fixes it up.

maybe all the people who are affected should post their operating system + flash they are using, so we can get a general idea of who it is affecting

It will be less that 200 at most. While the active player base I'd estimate at approx. 10 times of that. Want me to waste hours of my life just so I can win in argument against you? I can do that for you. Don't be ignorant. Regardless -- this seems an issue that doesn't have one single solution but rather needs to be pieced together thanks to user data. Is there in easy way to access player specs and to survey who lags and who doesn't? Last edited by Coolboyrulez0; 07-26-2012 at 04:19 AM.. |

Missing the point, huh. I guess providing not only a thesis on why the lag issue is happening but what to do about it and while using prediction to estimate the statistics of the region of players that are actually affected by this issue (never once did I downplay anything -- you read too much into my statements while presumably not comprehending them) is completely missing to point it seems. Okay, bmah you won. Got me. I'm out. I know nothing.

Why would every single person who's having lag problems post about it

You go to the mechanic or ask people who know about the issue -- this in both cases being the forums. And as bob^2 put it sarcastically, the ffr people are known for their blunt whining and complaining. If something rustles their jimmies they'll tell ya. Once again bringing me back to the vocal minority argument. Ah yes, unintentional full-circles are the best. Done yet arguing about non-trivial things that you know I'm right on? It helped to a small extent. Ultimately, it did not change the fact that input lag occurs at a gross rate.
Also, after some discussion: there will be no extensions for this round. |

Browser and standalone should be near exact nowadays, I noticed that the "wmode" in the browser was set to "window", it was changed to "direct" sometime last week.
