I would also start to be concerned for the smaller islands throughout Oceania... a lot of those are very low and very flat. An increase of only a meter or two could be enough to completely submerge them :/

live feed of japanese news tv. I just saw some footage where it looked like an apocalypse hit. Everything engulfed in flames. I know some people in Japan, so I hope they're safe.

At 1:38 you see to the right a man in a white car trying to drive away, though the water hits the road infront of him and he just stops and sits there awaiting his inevitable death.

As inhuman as this may sound, I'm more worried about the tsunami than anything..
I REALLY hope it misses Vancouver Island..

Praying for everyone in Japan. :/ It does looks like hell broke loose, the live footage is heart breaking. I really hope there aren't as many casualties as they've been predicting.

Really hoping everyone's alright, especially all of my friends over there.
Looks like Reitaisai will be pushed back, but that isn't the concern at all.

Japan in is a state of nuclear emergency. A power plant has broken out in fires and rescue forces can't reach any fires because of the flooding. Hawaii has been hit with the first waves of the moving tsunami a few minutes ago. God's speed.

Between 200 and 300 bodies have been found on a beach near Sendai, the semi-official Jiji Press news agency is reporting.

I really hope everyone affected can stay safe... this is scary stuff :X this is the stupidest comment ever lol. Some things just aren't predictable in time. It's not like we've got every bit of the Earth totally hooked up Last edited by Reincarnate; 03-11-2011 at 08:58 AM.. |

That really sucks... 8.9 is a pretty massive quake! Good luck to those people.
Well I have my very large surfboard ready for any massive tsunamis that dare to think it can just stroll on through SD (if one ever does). I will wrap a very large rope around it and tame it. I will then use it to destroy other countries I hate... meaning all. ![]() |

When the report first broke last night they were saying on CNN that it was a 7.9. Then I went to bed, so i'm not sure if it's been updated since then or not.
