I was just hanging out with Calimist on New Years
Seeing him play in person is just incredible. He moved to Vegas a while back and there was just a tourney at this cool arcade called Gemini. 3 hacked brand new dedicabs. I'm rooting for JJ (cali)

Just realized, I was watching Madmatt playing that Flames in The Sky chart right on front of me at the G2 tourney @ Gemini. He can double step like a beast 0.o
And I watched him play Dumpstream too. He does play some incredible stuff in general. Now I am starting to reconsider my decision lol

Both are amazing players but I have to choose one so... Mad Matt.
Mad Matt has better speed than Calimist, he also has good accuracy. |

What's amazing to me is how he so effectively breaks up those 4 panels into 8 panel-halves (the corners) and leverages them really well. In that video, it's interesting to see the creative ways he handles double-steps and certain types of triplets/crossovers. His reading ability/coordination is crazy.

Also, if you're talking about Disconnected Hardkore's LDDRDDLDDRDD pattern, it's not a crossover; it was intended as a foot-switching gimmick (which is why the second one actually leads to a double step if you legitimately try to do the crossover). |

It'll be really interesting to see how far he'll be able to push the limits
One hilarious thought I've always had is what would happen if we could take Madmatt's videos and post them like 5-6 years back in time... I laugh at the thought of how retardedly lmfao the reactions would be. People would have no idea how to process what they were seeing Last edited by Reincarnate; 01-15-2011 at 03:13 PM.. |

From the looks of those videos, MadMatt seems to have far exceeded Calimist, based on what I saw Matt do at the US Open. He's insanely creepy in-person, however. (Of course, this may be because I was the subject of a mockumentary he decided to make, but even in spite of that I just felt highly awkward around him.)

Mostly body language and nonverbals. The way he would make eye contact was strange. I don't know what he does outside of ITG (something science-related, I'm guessing) but the intonations in his voice made it seem like he was constantly evaluating you with respect to your position in the ITG community and nothing else. Also, if he wanted to talk to you but you weren't in immediate range, he'd follow you around far more closely than you're probably used to.
Anyway, this is seriously verging on gossip/slander. Matt's a smart guy, so I don't want to be misread to think I don't like him, and I'm not going to write any more on the subject. In fact, I already think this post has been too much but I feel like I've obligated myself to this sort of reply by writing my previous one. |

Matt is a really chill guy as long as you aren't annoying around him. He doesn't tolerate stupidity, and (regardless if he knows you or not) will make your stupidity known. I was at Brunswick Zone Roselle when an annoying little girl kept running in front of the machine, so Matt found it funny to childishly make fun of her. The parents seemed to find it funny, though.

Footswitchs are harder than it looks ^^'
He got something like 3ex with a bar, ahah wtf. Both players are insane. I like both of them, can't really choose. I just throw a video of cali because there is not so much from him in this thread ![]() Also this : Quote:
