Kind of looks like she has a cleft pallet. Then again, the picture sort of does as well.
I'm sure you will get much better as you get used to it.:4 ^_^ |

look at the contrast of the picture, and then look at your sketch. don't be afraid to go into darker contrast. use black. What program are you using? For beginning with a tablet openCanvas is very good. The pen pressure scale is just perfect on it. Photoshop and the like isnt as great in that respect, but it is great for certain types of coloring. I also would suggest adding more definition... other than that most of the issues I find with it are only style issues. But that's your turf so i'm down wit dat.
p.s. be careful accentuating soft things within a picture too much. it's more likely to do when referencing from or when tracing a picture, especially. plus it's easy for someone that is used to doing caricature-like drawings to do, because it's what theyre used to.

anyways it looks good, but feel free to use all of the tools you have. you'll get used to it in no time. the contrast is better but I'd like to see a little more on the face itself. other than that its great, although soft. good work bro. protip: use white for highlighting, and maybe begin with a very light gray as your background. it allows you to add more light to the piece
