![]() Thanks Sometimes I wonder wheather building it wouldn't be easier, and it would indeed be real then, heh I didn't intend to fool you, but, compliments to me I guess, thanks ![]() Quote:
The neon lights aren't lit up, but the light surround tubing is indeed there. Not sure wheather its complete though, in terms of detail.Quote:
![]() Hopefully, finished? hehePROBLEMS: Ah I thought I lost everything yesterday but most things are fine. My PSU suffered a blowout, or a flash bang, as I'll call it, because thats what it did. I replaced it today, but my PCI cards are none functioning, including my sound (no FFR until I get a new one (or install the motherboards) ) and primary network adapter (I'm using the motherboards internal one)But my hard drives are functioning perfectly fine and thats what I was worried about the most (RAID 1), because I never backed them up, due to them mirroring each other. I didn't expect a power supply to just go like that. So thats 80 quid down the drain for a new PSU... I kind of wanted to get a new sound card with Dolby Digital Live anyway (I have an X-FI...or well...did have), but thats not the point, because thats going to now set me back at least another 50... grrr Hopefully, its not my PCI ports that have been damaged, and its just the cards. EDIT 2: Never mind The cards needed another good firm pushLast edited by Kage06; 03-19-2009 at 05:02 PM.. |

I pretty much have most things in the images that I would need to base the machine off. Only thing I can think of now are shots of the middle in more detail, i.e the coin slots, etc ![]() The actual logos I can probably find somewhere, so there was no need for these to be blur free anyway, as I know with a camera phone, it can be pretty hard to get clear shots. I do have some questions about the pad itself. Is the decal saying Step Up all the way around? Also, on all the images, the arrows are on. From videos I've seen, the decals look black until they are like projected onto the decals. Isn't this how it works? Thanks again ,you've been such a help. I'll have to start the project sooner now I have no excuses Quote:
More images are always good though in any type of work like this, so if you get another chance? ![]() I must also thank shad0wlord, who gave me the painted decals for the pad in very high res ![]() |

Thanks
![]() Yeah, thats what I'm confused about. I actually thought that the decals weren't actually visible until lit up. Thats what videos suggest that I've seen, but now I know that wrong ![]() |

Dude, this is fricking amazing.
You could make it lower poly and export as a .mdl, then you'd be a Garry's Mod god. Lol. Seriously though, I love this. You have modeling skillz. |

![]() I'll be starting work on it soon. I'm in the middle of modelling the Xbox 360 controller at the moment, which isn't going brilliantly, haha. This is an example if you want to see another piece of work I recently finished, to see the quality of the finished pieces: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b9...dlogosgone.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b9...ectedlogos.jpg ![]() |

The model itself is pretty basic, but the texturing is pretty well done, a bit on the flashy side though. Looks like you have a bump map of some sort on the bars? I'd take that out, or at least reduce it a ton, because up close it doesn't refract light like it should and becomes a bit distorted.
Regardless, it looks really nice, what program do you use? It's nice seeing a fellow modeler around here xD

Hey, thanks man
Yeah I'll have to redo the entire thing, and I've learnt a lot since then anyway, so hopefully, it'll be cleaner and such.I'm a Max user, though I'm tempted to move over to Modo soon. Guess I'm a loser though, because I love speedmods ![]() |

I use Max as well, no reason to switch over, Max's modeling tools are still top notch in the market, just try out different rendering engines. Got a portfolio up anywhere I could peek at?

I plan to finish what I'm starting now though, and this for sure. I have got tonnes better from when I first started of course, so all my earlier works I started, I've basically forgotten about, now I've hit a peak, as the older work just looks rubbish to me now. So, not really a portfolio, no. I pretty much hate the way my mind works. Heres a WIP though of my speaker system, and a unfinished work link. Speaker WIP: http://forums.3dtotal.com/showthread.php?t=58377 Creative Zen Vision M (Finished it in a sense I guess): http://forums.3dtotal.com/showthread.php?t=47590 Xbox 360 controller WIP shot (Working on this still): http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b9...ontroller1.jpg Thanks, but What do you mean? The controller is some fine polymodeling sir. Add one more iteration to the meshsmooth and you have yourself a perfect looking shell.
I tend to be more the opposite style of yours. I tend to focus on the big picture, as opposed to minor details. I'm also pretty heavy into camera matching/animation, rather than modeling. Nice work overall. Ps Jimerax meant this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhTUj...e=channel_page I made that as a concept interface in max lol

That concept looks really good!
Thanks. I have done more on the controller now: ![]() Yeah, I kind of wish I didn't focus on details as much, because if I ever made a big scene... well... you can imagine how long it'd take me. I want to start an environment soon though. Have you got a portfolio? |
