I lol'd @ "hit a miss"
hehe Haven't played Ninja Lad, so I dunno Over the Rave is pretty annoying with the bursts throughout the song DYMK I just remember being somewhat long, I don't remember the file though. Epic is pretty cool, the beginning is a little annoying, then awkward streams. I didn't think Turbulence was still VC after avmiss fix, pretty cool I guess, though looking at blue-violet, the jacks probably don't even bother you the slightest bit in turb. Yeah, go for the SDG on 4 chord, 13 goods isn't bad though. |

What's all this about "I'm not good at FFR"? Those Blue-Violet and 4 Chord Touhou scores are great.

Oddly enough, I like 4 Chord the best. Nice Over the Rave though. It's a typical "Oh no I have mental blocks on the first xx notes" level.

Garyuutensei makes me cry. I'd hate to have to play that file again just for a stupid boo.
By the way, what's with the concept of boos in this game? I'm not quite sure I understand. I mean yeah, no arrow there = boo, but... why? |

To enforce some rigidity in accuracy since the timing system is so loose. I could hit what is essentially a Great in SM, and still PA songs on FFR. With the way it works, I could smash a lot of songs and get really damn good scores if boos didn't exist (I am a relatively accurate smasher ?_?).
I thought boos were stupid at first, but when you realize how lenient the game is with timing and how borked it would be without it... yeah. I wouldn't change it now, tbh.

Hey, those are actually some pretty good points. There are a couple of instances of one-handed jumptrills with single notes in between them, and I always tend to just mash those as the jumptrills in Stepmania; in FFR, I get boos for it, and always wondered why. Good explanation, though.

FFR is actually harder in some aspects than others; for example, if you have a pattern with a constant jack on one arrow and alternating arrows over the other columns, such as (23)(34)(23)(13), in stepmania you can hammer all columns at the same time and you'll never be early because a chord isn't judged until all its notes are hit. In ffr, the components of a chord are judged separately, so you'll get goods, averages and boos.
