I can't even think of anything witty to say this because it's just that stupid.
It's such a shame that you can't sit around all day and listen to your iPod and play rhythm games, isn't it? Have fun making ornaments or railings or whatever the ****. |

I don't plan on going to college, if I do it'll be for something like working in the music industry.
Btw, I also been wanting drums for a long time and me and my friend want to start a band, he plays guitar, I know this sounds really dumb, but I love music so much that I want to make a living in it.

I think you should at least stay in school until you graduate grade 12. In those years, you will get to learn some more skills, and you should actually listen, and learn these skills, so it can help you make your decision to see what you would want to be when you graduate. I mean, I'm not an expert, seeing as I'm only in 9th grade, but by grade 12, you don't necessarily have to know what you want to be. You just have to find out. Try different activities at school, volunteer for different programs. See what you like when you get to try some of these things, and see what you don't like. This will help you in seeing what you excel at, so you can see what you might want to make a career out of. Dude, like I said, I'm no expert, but you might want to consider what I've said: stay in the remaining years, listen and learn, see what you are better or worse at, see if it helps you choose. I'm not saying this will make you choose, but it might help you, even if just a little bit, dude. You should want to graduate, because you will have many more options with a diploma, more experience to have a wider range of job opportunities, and more. So graduate, and then you can see what you want to be.

Oh I just remembered, isn't it illegal to drop out of school before the age of 18 in Canada?

No, it's not, but it's highly inadvisable.

Only person with a legit reason to drop out of high school is Bill Gates. Otherwise, you'd be ****ed if you live in society with no high school diploma, even.

My dad is the owner... The company is named after me and my bro.
My dad told me I don't need to finish highschool to do what he does.

EnR, don't do it. My sister did it, worse decision ever. She had a baby at 19 years old, and she is still in school atm. It's very hard for her, not only because of the baby, but just getting diplomas and everything is hard enough. You're only in grade 11, you still have many year's ahead of you. Don't ruin it by making a stupid mistake such as this.

Exactly, I have many years ahead of me, that's what I'm afraid of.. I won't last these next 2 years, I hate school so much it's unbeleivable. Nothing is wrong with it. I just wish we didn't have so much useless work.
I'm wasting 6 hours of my day to sleep/play computer games(during school) and to piss off my teachers.

Just hang on for a little bit. You got 2 years of school left before the real world comes to bite you in the face and you shouldn't give up your schooling career because of a stupid excuse. Have some perseverance and self-discipline. Don't let your life be lenient to something so easy to get because in the end, you might (probably will) regret it. Otherwise, if you think it 10 times through and are sure you want to live your career as in what your dad does, go for it.

Very, very bad idea, as others have said here.
You may be as intelligent as you may be, but if you don't have at least a degree/diploma, no one will even take you seriously or give you a chance. If no one even considers you, there's nothing you can do, regardless of whether or not your learn anything at school. Basically, school is a must in order to be accepted as in society; a degree/diploma pretty much assures others that you at least have some degree of knowledge. |

Well, I'll most likely try to finish school... But I can't wait to see what my teachers do after today, because I'm tired of this and I'm gonna be bitchy as **** as school. This is gonna be fun...

Trust me bud.
You need your grade 12 to get a decent job here. Don't be like me. Maybe work for a year or so, figure out what you want to do. But graduate high school first. I regret not doing my work and applying myself, and I have 15/30 credits. I hate that all my friends are in college. ( I should have graduated 2 years ago ) Perhaps you feel differently, but I'm just saying how I've been affected.

That's pretty much all it is, I lack motivation. I guess I'll look into those two things, might be interested in one and actually try..

A diploma indicates at the very least that you can be taught and that you have a certain level of ethics and personal responsibility. Dropping out of school tells everyone that you're a quitter, you don't take responsibility for your own actions, and that you probably can't be taught a whole lot. I'm not saying what I said there is undeniably true, but I can guarantee it's an assumption that people will make when they hear you don't have a diploma. Especially if you ever try to get a job somewhere else. So, put up with the BS for the last couple years you have. Pull up your ****ing Pampers and quit being such a whiny little baby. Get your god damn diploma and then go weld ****. |
