Re: Classic Games you have gone back to
Funny story about this game. Back in the day, just got a PS1. I was in 5th grade (1999-2000) and i was slacking in school. Each week we had to get a journal signed by our parents for English if we had a D or below. I had gotten a D or F every week and knew my parents wouldnt be pleased, so I avoided getting it signed. Had lunch detention every day that year.
End of the year comes around and my parents and I go to D.A.R.E. graduation (lawlz.) My teacher caught up to my parents as they are leaving and shows them my journal. My dad was so pissed that he made me grab one of my newly purchased playstation games so he could break it. My choices were THPS 1, Oddworld and Oddworld 2. I made the wrong decision, because i never actually made it to the second disc of oddworld 2. I brought in the shattered pieces of THPS1 the next day and my friends told me my parents were crazy. One of my oldest memories... Oddworld: "Hello" "Hello" "Follow Me" "Okay" |

Re: Classic Games you have gone back to
I recently started doing this, since I don't have my GameBoy Advance SP anymore, I unfortunately have to use my emulator now to play pokemon crystal and some other gameboy games, it's actually pretty cool because you can speed up the emulator to make it go 20x faster, i got 27 hours of gameplay in pokemon crystal in 2 hours hahah
And I've also been resorting to Twisted metal 3, and final Fantasy VIII( just started I've never played this one yet.) |

Re: Classic Games you have gone back to
I went ahead and DL'd Crash Bandicoot and Spyro onto my PS3, along with FF7 and FF8...
I NEEDED to get FF8 because my 4th disc for the game would glitch and freeze after I beat Adel, so I was never able to beat it... I needed to right that wrong after all these years. |

Re: Classic Games you have gone back to
Yesss! Most underappreciated game imo. I just played Tetris Attack this weekend, as well as Gradius. I'm so happy my SNES still works.
Others I played recently: Spyro (PSX), Mario Kart 64, Zelda: OoT, Banjo-Tooie (N64). If PS2 is considered nostalgic, then I'm currently playing Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Aresenal. |

I go back to older games every now and then. Recently I've been doing speed runs on Pokemon Red.

Re: Classic Games you have gone back to
In the last year, I have beaten:
Super Mario Sunshine (120 shines) Super Mario 64 (120 stars) All 3 Metroid Primes on Hard (not really classic, but damn these games are still just the best) Banjo Kazooie and Tooie, all jiggies Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (180 emblems, takes forever) I think that's it... basically I only play old games now. Actually, not basically... I only play classics. They are the best.

Re: Classic Games you have gone back to
I started a new game on FF8 a few weeks ago because I never beat it and I need to see how it ends.
In high school, I got to disc 3, and was at the part where you are fighting those alien things on the Ragnorak ship, and you had to kill them in order or they would respawn. I accidentally died, and wasn't mad because I knew why it had happened. So, I calmly turned off the system, and decided to play Croc, just to relieve myself a little. After playing for about an hour, I decided to save my game, and it said "In order to save the game, the memory card must be formatted." Not thinking much of it, I did that, and came to find out that the memory card had been completely wiped. I was 14 or 15 at the time, and was so mad that I never played FF8 again until just now. On a side note, I just bought Chrono Cross at one of those generic video game stores, and DAMN that game has too much crap to do in it.

I loved Ape Escape, Spyro and Mario Sunshine. I intend on getting the first two games again eventually - we got rid of them when we were considered "too old" to play kids games. Utter rubbish. :] I love on Metal Gear Solid 3, the whole Ape Escape mini-games. They're great fun and a right laugh. And I agree with what you said about Rayman in a later post... such a difficult game - I still have the first one and I always struggle to get past the cavern levels, with the scorpion boss chap. Also, I ordered both Broken Sword 1 and 2. You jelly? |
