I hope this sparks some debate between windows fanboys and macfags. Too bad every Linux distro is superior.

Honestly, it depends on what you intend to use it for. If you plan on gaming or just want something to use for general usage, Windows is the best. If you're someone who is into graphic design or some form of video/picture editing, Mac is the best. If you are some experienced hacker or what something that is free, Linux is your answer.

By the end of the day, there is no best operating system. They all have their advantages and disadvantages, and different people will be best using different ones.

EDIT: I would also like to mention that Windows is the most preferred choice however that doesn't make it the best OS.

I do like the layout of OSX. i just find it more intuitive to work around with. Also when I used to do work on clusters through my mac, it was quite easy to ssh into the various clusters. seamless, how i call it

the only reason i can think of, is that alot of schools use apple computers to teach their students. i tried helping my girlfriend with her video editing projects, but couldnt really do much.
