For the dimensions, stepmania likes 256x80 for banners and 640x480 for backgrounds.

If you actually care about quality and how they look in-game, it's better to go higher res. 256x80 appears very blurry in-game so it's better to go double the size with 512x160. The only issue with 512x160 banners is that anything with scanlines becomes too compressed and looks terrible. ITG banners of 418x164 also look good however you have to be conscious of the space being used because placing type in the wrong spot will have it cut off in-game.

You mean on the background or the banner? I've never really bothered putting the artist in the bg but I may start. As for the banner it would look like

yeah those graphics are really cool!

i made a freedom dive file, it's finished and really hard. i just gotta adjust a few spots a bit. if someone wants to make graphics for it i would appreciate it

. no hurry though, not sure what i will do with it yet, perhaps just a single release.
