FFR Beta - The ''let's talk about lag'' thread.
So, yeah, finally after spending a bunch of hours getting that stand alone flash player, going down to 16-bits color, optimizing my computer, starting ffrndanotherway.swf the lag related to general FPS is gone. Sadly, the small frameskips stuff issue is still here. Therefore i was like, oh yeah let's try the beta link because you know i have that old subscription from a while ago and i somehow found some text file i had with the link etc. and guess what. It works! Zero lag, perfect playing! How much the game was smooth was superbly amazing and if i could, i would hi5 whoever created such an amazing thing and then.. the horror. I load a song. http://fbi.gov site. I'm like.. okay maybe i did something weird let's re-load. I load a song again. oh it's fbi.gov site again my bad... oh and there's that too now:
It always happens, i'm guessing. Okay, maybe it's because i'm not "currently" a subscriber. Yeah, cool okay i guess i'll subscribe again and check it out but.. ..even if i wanted to get a sub, I can't anymore. It's technically impossible to play this game here without lagging. So, what's going on? |

I've actually experienced a little bit of lag during play as of recently too but you have to realize that the site is still being worked on, etc. So I'd give it a week maybe and see how things go after that.

In before someone mention "it's because you're blacklisted lol", I was testing those things on another account. So, it's either my IP or there's more people that can create this "bug?" (sounds more like a recent modification to me). Last edited by Hakulyte; 10-16-2010 at 10:52 PM.. |

Yeah, the tiny frameskips are pretty annoying. The solution I could find was reloading the song over and over until it doesn't do that, which takes a few tries in itself. So yeah, it's most likely the dysfunctional nature of the site being worked and tweaked through the hours. Just have to wait it out, I guess. :/
On a better note, so ****ing happy this site is back up and running. FFR is win. <3 |

I've gotten that message before at one point. I restarted the SA and it still came back >.> But the next day it was alright again, should try tomorrow.

Then perhaps, try it with the standalone and see if you can run it better

Re: FFR Beta - The ''let's talk about lag'' thread.
I cannot use the normal ffr page to play FFR, it starts the song that exits it within 3 seconds, however since this morning i've been able to use the subscriber one without any issues what's so ever haven't played since this morning did things change?

Re: FFR Beta - The ''let's talk about lag'' thread.
I recently downloaded Flash 9 standalone http://download.macromedia.com/pub/f...shplayer_9.exe
It runs much better with almost 0 lag for me. Flash 10 was a bit laggy. You can try using that. |

Re: FFR Beta - The ''let's talk about lag'' thread.
My lag is no different than other times...
Actually it's been getting progressively better and I've had a few games without any slowdown or skipping at all, especially in the morning when no one else is on |

I use flash 8 standalone which works great for the game. I use anything flash 10 and it lags like hell and drops taps.

Re: FFR Beta - The ''let's talk about lag'' thread.
Runs flawlessly for me expect that at the most random intervals I seem to obtain a miss (almost like an AV-miss without the AV). What could be the cause of this?
[Win 7, Flash 10, Firefox 3.6.10, 8GB DDR3 Ram, i7 Core 865, Nvidia 9800 GTX+ -- Shouldn't be a problem to perfectly run a silly flash game...] |

Re: FFR Beta - The ''let's talk about lag'' thread.
Same thing for me. I was well on my way to FCing a song when all of a sudden I get a miss, even though I know I hit the key. Kinda annoying when you're trying to fix your avranks. :s

Re: FFR Beta - The ''let's talk about lag'' thread.
That's actually what i'm calling "frameskips". You hit something and it's like that frame time where you hit was disabled so you ends up either hitting late or getting a miss instead of getting both like in the old engine. The big problem with that is that it seems to happens totally randomly.

Re: FFR Beta - The ''let's talk about lag'' thread.
Oh, that makes sense then. I was getting more late goods than usual, so it's good to see I wasn't as bad as I thought. I still kinda suck though. :P
