So I took my wrists off the keyboard...
...and my accuracy has improved quite a bit. I just took them off for fun to see how I would do, loaded up Lawn Wake IV, and managed a 0-0-0-1. Then I went and AAA'd I Am Maid, because I'm seeing how well I would do if I had been placed in D4 instead of D3.
I can actually hear myself tapping the keys quite clearly now, which I think is helping me out. Basically it feels like my whole forearm is moving instead of just my hands at the wrist. Is this something that everyone already knows about, and I've just been ignorant of? Of course, Firefox 3 has helped immensely in taking care of the lag issue.

Re: So I took my wrists off the keyboard...
Hm, it should be easier to have your wrists down, because then your fingers curve more..but if you have good stamina I guess that would help. O_o
I play index, but when I play spread for fun once and a while I always have my wrists glued to the pad in front of the keyboard, saves a lot of energy. |

Re: So I took my wrists off the keyboard...
I always have my left hand on the keyboard holder and my right hand off it. Not really sure why.

My wrists lie on the edge of my desk. Feels very comfortable and helps me a lot compared to when I can't/don't.

Re: So I took my wrists off the keyboard...
I find it comfortable with my wrists down as well. Maybe because I usually play index and occasionally spread for most KB files.

I find picking up my wrists increases raw speed but decreases accuracy. To each his own, I suppose.

Re: So I took my wrists off the keyboard...
I rest my right wrist and slide the ride end of my keyboard up, while i just keep my left wrist held up. I try playing askl like that and cant, I think thats why I do kinda bad.

Re: So I took my wrists off the keyboard...
Played with them up a bit more, and I'm getting all kinds of tier points with the improved accuracy.
I get tired pretty quickly though with my wrists up, which is bad for frustrated whoring, trying to AAA. Over the Rave can blow me. I noticed that my right wrist eventually makes its way down to the keyboard again at some point, usually, but I'll pick it back up and keep going. I can usually do two or three songs all the way through (average of about 2-3k arrows) before I have to take a second to rest my arms, but I figure the more I play this way, the smaller the downtime will be. My only crutch at this point seems to be that if I don't have my elbows resting on something, my accuracy is almost nonexistent. So, I find myself sitting Indian style in my chair, allowing my thighs to be the resting place, but it makes my feet fall asleep...

Re: So I took my wrists off the keyboard...
Hmm...I've found it increases both my speed and my accuracy. Guess that's just the obstacle I've been needing to get around to up my PA and get to some more difficult stuff.

I also started raising my hand since a month or two and it really does help even though it hurts at the beginning.

Re: So I took my wrists off the keyboard...
noooo.... what are you doing in my division???
topic related: I've tried it once or twice, but like dore and meno rocks123, it decreases my accuracy.... which I consider my strong point because I am not good at speed+endurance. So unless I'm going for something like FOTBB FC, I won't do it. |

Re: So I took my wrists off the keyboard...
I only do this when I need to jack. Otherwise, it completely destroys any PA/MA I might've had in the first place.

Lifting your wrist and laying them on the desk is all opinion and whatever you're more comfortable with.............and also depends how fast you want to get carpal.
