well, with the exception of ddream/sm stepping guides
but they pertain to FFR. Though there will be a bit of SM maneuvering in some videos it will guide a newcomer to step solely for FFR(ofcourse, it's possible to use some ffr techniques for sm)

Yeah, but I don't really step. However, a lot of people use SM as a crutch for FFR in regards of skillboosting.

This actually isn't a terrible idea, but I don't think the flash swf's could be decompiled, modified, and recompiled by the game itself. This would mean that the game would have to be able to take files of a different format for the step files (which in turn probably would mean it would have to run on something other than flash). The other aspect to this would be that FFR would have to have a way to upload the music file as part of your step file that's being worked on, which essentially would bring back the "simfile database" in a sense because there's no way that FFR could easily (though with work it could probably be done) ascertain whether the song you uploaded to step was one that we actually have permission for or not. This would be a whole new murky water for FFR.

I do like the idea though - just need a good way to implement something like that which would be quite the challenge I'm sure.

My thoughts on it were similar to yours, escaping the flash aspect to create better things.
But i don't know many games that have an online database similar to FFR's and aren't flash that you don't have to download.exe

I mean, that's what's so great about FFR and i really want to keep that,
i'd need to do more research if i really wanted help expand the game in that direction as i don't know the first step to do something like that yet.
ofcourse, that's why there are people out there that already know this stuff, but as you said, it'd be a challenge.

but if all that weren't a problem,
i'd suggest maybe a separate engine made just for users to render their fav songs to ffr format and be able to step it how they-want within the engine ofcourse
the engine wouldn't save the file onto an online database but rather export a .. iono ".ffr" or something. whatever the extension is.
So that they can load the file from their computer onto FFR the game under "upload files" that would be placed at the bottom of the genres list or something.
Or there could be and "edit" option where you could do what was mentioned above just within ffr the game.
but it would be so nice to just upload and have access to it just like in-game files...

There is plenty to discuss about implementing something like this which i'd love to go in-depth on and believe would deserve it's own thread in the future.

I don't mind the ideas unfolding, just right now my priority is to get the main videos done for the YouTube channel.

I wish there was a bit more insight on what's going to be happening with the dev side of things, but I guess we all just have to wait and hope we hear soon.

Here's what I mentioned before.

it's supposed to be at 30 fps but it's a bit more like 33... making it look a bit different and faster than the original. So i'll touch it up a bit.

I plan on adding a little tune as well but i can't think of anything that sounds ffrish as of now so i'll either just leave it at this or come up with one during the weekend

I really like this, I don't know if it really even needs sound since it is a short intro. Plus the videos themselves will have music to them.

it'd be more like a 3note jingle to match the arrows, not an actual song song.
but as said before, i cant think off anything that fits itasofnow plus it seems fine silent.

i can contrib a sync tutorial for ddream//make an updated version of my audio equipment guide from patashu's old tutorial if you guys want. that and using ddream to make making more labor intensive cuts (i.e. cutting a section out of the middle of a song) a hell of a lot easier. i dunno just lemme know if you need anything
