Rhythm Galaxy
Rhythm Galaxy is an Android Rhythm Simulation game (that I am developing).
It's kinda like Stepmania(in regard to using simfiles), but with more gameplay modes. You can add songs the same way as Stepmania. On startup the app will create a "Rhythm Galaxy/Songs" folder on your external storage". There you can add songs like you would do with the "Stepmania/Songs" folder. device-2013-09-22-151743.jpg device-2013-09-22-152046.jpg device-2013-09-22-152403.jpg device-2013-09-22-150857.jpg Downloadable from Google Play: Rhythm Galaxy Smartphone Version Rhythm Galaxy Tablet Version Description from Google Play: Rhythm Galaxy, tap the screen on the beat! Feel the rhythm in the different modes. This rhythm game uses simfiles as input. The following formats are supported: - sm and dwi files (DDR Simulation) - non-keysounded bms and bme files (Beatmania Simulation) - non-keysounded pms files (Pop'n Music Simulation) You can use the PC version to convert keysounded files to non-keysounded files!!! THE USER MUST PROVIDE THE SONG/SIMFILES, but you can just find these files on the internet. ALSO, you can download a sample pack ingame to test the game. Follow the quick start guide to fill the game with songs: http://rhythmgalaxy.webs.com/tutorials PC Version is downloadable from the website: http://rhythmgalaxy.webs.com/downloads Try the app/game and feel free to comment Last edited by neoray333; 11-21-2013 at 10:18 AM.. |

Re: Rhythm Galaxy
You must like compression to have a .rar inside of a .zip
At the very least you can make sure that the songs in your sample pack are actually on sync.. In terms of the game itself, it's probably exactly what people are looking for for mobile rhythm games but it leaves a lot to be desired. Like all the various options that stepmania or even osu has. It's extremely EXTREMELY limited in that regard. Looks like it's still in development though, so I guess it's something to keep an eye on. |

The double compression: I packed the game with winrar and it seems dropbox download links seems to want to pack it in a zip. Maybe I need to recheck the sample songs when I have some free time for it. (I am currently working on a new gameplay mode for the mobile versions). Or if a good simfile maker on this forum is willing to recheck/improve them. The primary goal of this app/game was a rhythm game that uses simfiles to generate gameplay tracks for the different gameplay modes. It's focused on mobile devices, the PC version was primarily created to use keysounded bme/bms/pms files in the gameplay modes and convert them to non-keysounded files for use in the mobile versions. I'm willing to add extra features if requested, preferably something that applies to all gameplay modes (like background videos). |

Re: Rhythm Galaxy
I don't know if you are a designer, but the menu could use a redesign (with new graphics, animations?). Especially the options menu on the start screen was kinda rushed. You can also create a new skin for a gameplay mode, if you prefer that. You can PM me for further details.

The tablet version is really designed for tablets: 7" or higher. Basically in the Smartphone version most of the gameplay modes are designed to by playable with 2 fingers. (the Tablet version is designed for multiple fingers). |

Re: Rhythm Galaxy
New update for Android versions: Version 1.4
- Added new gameplay mode: Grid Runner mode - Added difficulty adjustment calculator (each songs will use the same difficulty scale). NOTE: this can be turned off in Options=>Difficulty Options Grid Runner mode is basically a combination of JuBeat and Snake with a moving camera. On a side note: I'm currently looking into porting Rhythm Galaxy to IOS devices. |

Re: Rhythm Galaxy
When testing out the PC version, I can't seem to find out how to 'load songs'. I've placed your sample pack in multiple locations hoping that it'd pick them up, but all have seemed to fail, including the 'song' directory located within 'bin'.
I highly recommend allowing the user to select where they'd want the application to scan for song files. You could even have them imported into the main song file directory once scanned. I'll check out the Android version later when I get more free time~ EDIT: After messing around with the files, I've found out that you need a category directory as the parent of the song directories. You should add this within the song pack to avoid confusion. :3
