Default SCHOOL'S OUT! Kings Dominion Meetup June 24th

Okay so I was just talking with Mal, and I realized that a VA meet up at Busch Gardens would be a fantastic idea. It would take place somewhere in the May/June era, and would be open to all VA FFRer's. Busch Gardens is pretty close to VA beach and Richmond, just to give you an idea of where it is. Basically you hit richmond and go west on 64 until you hit the coast.

WHY BUSCH GARDENS???

Busch Gardens is offering a season pass for VA residents only, called a "Fun Card" that costs the same as a day pass! $55 for a season pass; THIS IS MADNESS! The card can be purchased online, and printed out at your house. You take that print-out to a machine at the front of the park and get your fun card. All you need is some proof of VA residency (driver's license, etc). Just make sure you buy them before May 31st because that's when the deal ends (but the passes purchased before then last until Sept 3). Just to be safe, we might want to have the meet up before May 31st.

I would be coming from the very top of VA, and could pick up the non-drivers along the way (mead, rai, richmond people, etc). Anyone game for this?

UPDATE: PLEASE READ

Looks like a King's Dominion meetup is scheduled for Sunday, June 24th.
Time: unknown
Members attending: ????????

Oh and before you guys say "no kingsdominon is bretr" think about the southern va people too. This will include them and make for a bigger meet up. Both parks have plenty of DDR machines and good roller coasters.

Actually, as a NC'er I could swing that. Likely would be fun and a good excuse to get out and see some family up that way.

Keep this thread posted as I would be interested in hearing more about this and who might head out .. ect

It's a shame Busch Gardens totally sucks or I'd consider it.

Too bad Busch Gardens sucks.

How do you figure that?

Busch Gardens has one interesting ride. One. Alpengheist.

Looks like by the 25th, another good one might be open. That makes two!

King's Dominion on the other hand? Volcano, Hypersonic, Anaconda, Flight of Fear, and apparently they've opened some new ones as well. They have over a dozen coasters.

Busch Gardens is a theme park. The things there are shows and events, not rides. Also known as: Incredibly boring.

Wow, I don't remember most of those rides, it's been a while. Shockwave was at Kings, right? Apollo's Chariot at BG. The one that they tore down at BG was awesome, Dragon something. I guess it's because of it's location (45min from VaBeach as opposed to 2 hours= a lot more memories) and the fact it's a classic place to take a date (lots of non-roller coaster attractions), I reminisce about BG more.

Apollo's chariot is a great ride, and always has a short line. Kings dominion may have more roller coasters, but you get to ride less of them less times because the lines are excruciating. Stop being so opinionated, Squeek. This is about FFR, not you, and certainly not about Roller Coaster penis.

That's right, stop having opinions, because you could have a lot more fun with an open mind. And we would have a lot more fun if you came along.

I might try to convince my parents to let me go to this. Busch Gardens isn't too far away.

Also Apollo's Chariot pwns like you can't comprehend.

OMG I might be able to go! I live really close there, I'll ask my parents! I hope they say yes >.<.

P.S. Alpengheist (or something like that) and Appolos Chariot are the best.

Edit: My mom just got home and she's thinking about it. I might bring some of my friends if you don't mind, this'll be awesome!

I'm trying to remember the rides... I know Alpengheist, Appolos Chario, Big Bad Wolf (SUCKS), Lochness Monster and I think one more. I've gone there a lot and can even show you to the good rides if you want me to. Escape from Pompei is awesome.

Actually, my dad apparently just realized that the VA Busch Gardens existed, and sort of suggested a trip there when we drive to New York to pick up my sister from Vassar.

So that'll be somewhere between May 20 and May 27.

My mom will probably be pretty pissed if I'm like, "OH WHAT A SURPRISE INTERNET FRIENDS. L8R FAM!"

Just an idea, wear your FFR shirts so people will know you're in the group. Man I've never met anyone from FFR, this would be awesome.

Sorry Fish. I go to amusement parks to be amused.

I don't spend 50+ dollars just to sit and watch shows, or re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-ride the same four coasters over and over again because that's all they have there.

I've already done that twice, actually.

Last time I went to King's Dominion (two years ago), we managed to hit every coaster at least once in only 5 hours. We did a few of them multiple times because they were awesome and the lines were dead.

Don't know about you, but if I'm going to drop $50 or more, I want the trip to be worth more than 2 hours of rides.

But it's a season pass! I can see your point though. I won't make you come
