FFR Customizable "Skins" - Page 10

Go for it. I would love to see this implemented, and see what creative layouts people can come up with.

I don't know how to use Photoshop period. =) I can attempt to make a skin on SAI Paint Tool, but I only use that to draw original doujin anime pictures.

I would definitely support. Maybe we could also implement "adding" our own BG picture for the main screen and such. That way it could be VERY customizable. All we do is add "broswe a BG" and we just add our own picture to it.

If I could use Photoshop, I would make my own Touhou theme and display my example of it for Touhou lovers.

I think this idea is beast. It does give us something to do with all these creds. I like how you thought up of the layout and re-arranged everything so it would fit. Tass should make this come out!

I hate to be a critic, but I think this would mean a lot of new bugs and no added functionality... Yes, it'd look better, but isn't FFR about the actual game, not what it looks like? Also, all the theme's would just take up more space on the server, meaning less room for replays and simfiles etc., and it'd load slower, as FFR is all flash right now, and hasn't got any images to load (except the notes and the top and bottom banner in the game screen, because that's likely faster).

Image is important in displaying the game in a public way. Variety is essential to image. Hence, SM has themes and noteskins, toastys and bgas.

Just about every addition takes up space. Compared to what's going to be in 3rd style, this is nothing.

Depending on the skin, it could load somewhat slower, but keep in mind that all skin-preference data would be stored in cookies (just like how it remembers your speed mod), therefore it shouldn't lag the servers.

I am personally a fan of this idea.
I do have some suggestions. I believe that the different looks of the main game screen should not change the actual layout of the main game screen. This would take a lot more work as far as coding goes. I believe that it would be a much more practical idea to simply change the appearance. Also, I do not think that the actual game should be changed in appearance past changing the appearances of the arrows.
