Default Decaf or caffeine free?
Like, what's the difference?

Isn't the end result just...no caffeine? Why do they bother making different labels for it?

just a guess here...

decaf probably means the caffeine was systematically removed

caffeine free means there was never any caffeine to begin with

This is it.

Decaffeinated coffee has literally had caffeine removed which is naturally there.

Caffeine free soda is a drink which would normally have caffeine added to it, but in this case it was not added.
