The demise of men
You should all start by watching this so we can start at the same level :
It makes alot of sense, guys are on internet alot more than girls and they do play alot of games. I"m not exactly sure what's causing guys to go to university less than girls, i always thought guys were smarter than girls but they just didnt put any effort in school work. But it seems too global to be just one thing. What do you think? Will it get worse than 5:3? Why is there feminism still and no menism or whatever its called? I don't want to live in a world controlled by women... Whats the solution? Last edited by wargasm1; 08-6-2011 at 04:28 PM.. |

Re: The demise of men
I find talking, conversing, and empathizing with some types of girls to be simple and entertaining, so I guess I'm not in this boat.

Re: The demise of men
A discussion like this on a forum.. that is on the Internet is pretty ironic. :P
And I bet some of the boys that do drop out do so out of financial obligations. Maybe their family can't afford to send a boy to college. And girls spend a lot of time on the Internet as well, albeit not as many play videogames & invest time into gaming like us guys do. And yes it's global! Girls have in fact gained some advantage (because of videogames) - even in my area I would see boys do extremely bad because they're stuck to videogames, whereas not as many girls are. But I don't think we'll be in a world controlled by women. Maybe evenly controlled? I mean come on, you need males and our sperm to create humankind! Be even or I won't make kids. Quote:
And TED (the video creator, whatever) says because of the Internet, boys have somehow lost their inherent ability to do so. Last edited by bassCannon; 08-6-2011 at 04:58 PM.. |

Re: The demise of men
I didn't really relate to anything that the guy said really, and I'm an absolute internet nerd. I prefer the company of girls over guys, I find them far more easy to get along with. Have no problems talking to them, no problems engaging in romantic situations. This almost feels like a "why video games are bad for our children" type deal.
And yeah he totally does look like Danny Bonaduce xD |

Spoken like a true meat head.
Though I agree this is just a ploy to make video gaming look bad for younger people. |

Re: The demise of men
While this may be true, Law, Engineering, and Business schools, which lead to the most stable and generally higher income career opportunities, tend to have huge Male over Female ratios.
At my University the engineering college is over 90% male and I believe the business college is over 60% male. Many of the women getting degrees are getting degrees that don't necessarily lead to higher career opportunities, where as most Men who actually do attend college seem to take the logical route and enter a degree that will be likely to offer a strong positive payout over what they spent going to college. |
