Re: Looking to buy a new keyboard online
I disagree entirely about the recommendation, I use red switches and I have no problem with them...................
It works perfectly for me on osu! (It feels like I did the most research here on keyboards.. well being part of a keyboard community - on geekhack, I almost feel elitist here) |

The reds for whatever else, I'd use them for speed too but youtr always going to bottom out because you dont know when its going to actuate Blacks i could care less about since it's like reds but with more force needed. |

Re: Looking to buy a new keyboard online
Curious, are there any existing mechanical keyboard with mixed keyswitches type, or companies which custom make them? (besides, modding one yourself) would be great since we only need 4keys for FFR/SM and you can possibly have every combination of black/blue/red/brown/white/etc. on your KB to try out

Re: Looking to buy a new keyboard online
Yeah, I love you linked it before too: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/
So, I got a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard and I managed to break it within 1 month. I broke my school laptop keys after a year and had to get replacement keys. I broke 2 saitek keyboards and they suck for FFR but I had them for free so whatever.. I wish they made mech-keyboards with flat keys. I don't want to re-buy the same keyboard every month because it's the only thing I can breeze on FMOs with.. I'm really confused at how people can be relatively fast on mech-keyboards, bulk keys are so slow and stamina draining to push compared to flat keys. ..and yet I see people like Staiain going fast with them and im like wtf.. I'm probably missing something huge. TLDR; Looking for more recommendations with mech-keyboards. Last edited by Hakulyte; 09-25-2012 at 03:36 PM.. |

Re: Looking to buy a new keyboard online
I had 5-6 mech keyboards before these and they were all terrible period on FFR. The only benefit was that they don't break as fast. .-.
It's hard to find a good middle ground. |

EDIT: Or...you could buy individual keyswitches from their website and mod your own, unless they take personalised requests. Hmm. There are flat mechanical keyboards, but are uncommon. They use Cherry ML switches, unlike the typical Cherry MX ones for bulky mech keyboards. I've heard mixed reviews of them and personally having tried one for a brief period of time, they are...........alright I think See the Cherry G84 keyboard. However I believe it has keyblock problems should you play on a weird setup, or play 6k+... Last edited by LongGone; 09-25-2012 at 03:56 PM.. |

Re: Looking to buy a new keyboard online
Just desolder and resolder different switches onto your kb.
It's piss easy to solder/desolder anyways and it saves you time asking for someone to do it for you. WASDkeyboard I believe sells individual switches for $1-3 a piece iirc? Red switches are more expensive because demand is larger nowadays. |
