Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
It was easier. The judges (especially Tass) accept anything they're more likely to AAA, obviously

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
It was good, all right. I found it to be fun, though the long left-down eighths slightly annoyed me.

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
heh, I love to bash the judges but stargroup yours was too technical and not as fun. You had better technicals, obviously, but it seemed "canned." you know?
Plus the left hand got really old really fast.

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
I noticed ingame Blue-Violet is utterly different from the one in the batch (which we've judged, like C with a lot less jacks/notes).
I'm not sure it could be included in "minor fix" though. |

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
yes I do admit mine was somewhat technical but the parts without the left-down thing on the left hand were very cool imo. bmah kinda dumped 8th notes in the rests which was really stupid. I really liked my layering in the end though, the 16th note jumpstream runs. it's something you don't really see in many files at all. also, bmah's feels emptier compared to mine without a constant drive.
I could change the file and actually make the left hand thing varied and fun but I was too lazy to take the time, so it ended up like that.

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
I think what he meant by "laziness" was that he was unwilling to cater the pattern to the fun FFR style rather than just straight technicality. A lot of times it's much easier to make something technical and un-fun than making it fun while still retaining PR or whatever.
That's just a guess, but that's definitely my experience.

P.S. Played your version of Blue-Violet, IMO sucks massively compared to Silvuh's because the "constant drive" of the simfile is "constantly boring". Last edited by bmah; 10-22-2008 at 11:27 AM.. |

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
yeah what dore said and
HOLY CRAP I'M SO SORRY I MEANT SILVUH NOT BMAH damn now it sounded like I just dumped all over bmah. not that I was shoving crap in silvuh's face but I didn't like the file very much ps bmah I hope you realize that you're a hypocrite because iirc you prioritize those factors (or maybe it was just your old files but I remember it about you I dunno)

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
Wtf? I step however according to what I want; a "constant drive" isn't something of a necessity, but fun steps are. You should've placed some jacks for your Blue-Violet sim, especially knowing that avmisses are fixed. I don't recall seeing any.

I put extremely difficult fun over anything. <_< Venetian Snares, GoSW etc.
I don't know where the boundary for off-topic is in this thread.
