Re: FFR Community Pack Winter 2011 (Submissions Open)
Okay, sent Rave7 and a Blitz Lunar song too.
I might send some more in the future. I have lots of files floating around that could use a pack to call home

Re: FFR Community Pack Winter 2011 (Submissions Open)
Session 9 - Chronicles - (Scylaax)
Acceptable. Yes Turning Japanese (Kommisar) Much much better. Thanks for the easier chart. Yes Super Soaker (gnr61) Poopet still got it. Nothing worth noting, file's very solid. Well layered, difficult, and fun. Make an easier chart and you're good to go. Pending Accept Bloody Fate (Kaneh) Heavy You know what you're doing. Yes Oni Well layered. Nothing worth noting, file's solid. Yes Cygnus....Vismund Cygnus (Detrimentalist) With all honesty do you really need to include the beginning of the song/file? Starting from M15 from the get go would keep your audience more lively, I kinda fell asleep no offense. And since it's so quiet and subtle, the layering is feels really weird playing through it despite being relevant/accurate. Groovy file overall nonetheless, I just don't think the beginning 15 measures are necessary. Poop an easier chart. Pending Rave7 (hi19hi19) Standard I'd shift this to Heavy difficulty instead. Yes Heavy Much more do'able for the "average" stepman but still difficult. I'd shift this to Oni difficulty instead. Yes Oni Holy ****. I'd shift this to a Beginner difficulty to signify that it's a really tough chart, lol. It's well layered, I'll give you that and definitely playable for scoring/difficulty factor. Yes Accepting because it's well layered and difficult. I have no real reason to say no to this pretty much. Ulterior Boss Battle (hi19hi19) Heavy Acceptable as an easier chart though I'd honestly simplify the layering much more. Oni Well layered, it just really bugs me that this is quite obviously stepped for FFR, not so much SM. So much more in the song could be expressed and emphasized better with hold, hand, and maybe mine usages. For now, I'll accept this. If you send more files later on I'll most likely reconsider the acceptance of this file for your other submissions. Yes File queue is at 20 files.

\O/
e: just a thought for consistency or w/e, i wouldn't put anything as beginner/edit charts unless all the others are filled in. if there's a really hard chart (harder than whatever arbitrary difficulty cap you set for heavy), call it oni and make heavy and standard charts mandatory regardless. so if theres anything real dumpy or just super hard make three charts obligatory or something idk im ~durnk~

I included 2 easier difficulties for a reason, if you'd like I could even make a Light chart. Also I tend to like my SM files to have a minimum of holds, xmod tricks, and mines. Most of my SM files do wind up looking a lot like FFR files, that's just my style. I'll consider adding some holds but I do rather like it "simple" the way it is... I'll make a standard chart for this as well, making easier charts is fun and doesn't take much time. We were all beginners once! Oh well, ty for feedback. Definitely going to try to submit a few more.

Rave7 in particular is -extremely- difficult so I figured there needs to be -some- way to distinguish that the chart isn't just your typical file. When presented with the beginner+heavy deal, you have the option between the two and from the get go you'll know that beginner is going to be difficult thanks to that set standard from all the previous packs. Even for beginners/newbies they should more or less figure out the point of having a huge gap between difficulties when they swap over to the beginner chart and see it is rated much higher in difficulty than the other chart(s). Pretty much why I'm doing this. If Rave7 is kept with the difficulties in order from Standard to Oni, almost everybody will play Oni and rage and never touch the file again, even when there are easier difficulties to compensate. I can guarantee this will happen, I've observed and experimented with this theory multiple times and it has proven to be true in every instance. In this case, Beginner+Heavy difficulty gap would be preferred to differentiate the charts.

Re: FFR Community Pack Winter 2011 (Submissions Open)
That's okay, I can resubmit it. I won't make a light chart then, just beginner, standard and heavy.
Or I can make a new easier chart as standard, then move standard to heavy and heavy to oni then put the current oni as beginner. Your choice- I just don't want a light chart if we're using Beginner to be the "stupid hard" file, there needs to be a gap to signify Beginner is different. STill going to make a standard chart for Ulterior Boss Battle though, and I'm working on figuring out which other songs I'm submitting. Hopefully my "FFR-ish" stepping style isn't too much of a problem...

Re: FFR Community Pack Winter 2011 (Submissions Open)
I don't mind if you keep your files FFR-oriented, hi19. If I'm forcing you out of your comfort zone, just do whatever you want and I'll take that into consideration when looking at your submissions, lol. I personally think that FFR-styled files for SM are quite bland without any interesting file gimmicks when it's all strictly layering based which is why I encourage people to experiment.

I'd be glad to try new things (likely submitting a file with mines in it, wtf hi19 using mines) but there's gotta be some of the comfort-zone stuff too!

I really got to get a file for this pack but stepping more expressive keyboard files is really hard.
