Re: ddr, itg, or piu?
DDR Died after Extreme, don't even try to fight that fact.
ITG Died after Konami sued them, custom songs and hacked machine's kinda live on, but machines are getting rarer. PiU now has its time to shine, some of the roxor people are helping out with that, and it's showing. I just gotta get good at pump now, or retire, 10 years of 4 panels, and now this x.x |

Re: ddr, itg, or piu?
Pump is just really weird as far as the panels go, I could never get used to it. DDR extreme sucked mainly because a lot of the files on it were really stupid. I played DDR when I first got introduced into rhythm games. I would have to go with ITG on this one.

Re: ddr, itg, or piu?
ITG 80%
DDR 20% PIU 0% That's how i feel. I personally like ITG's music and difficulty alot more. That, and it has mines! When i feel like a softer type, i play the DDR's some. PIU i hate, because it is so F**** confusing. And the gap between beginer and It's form of light is like THIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS BBBBBBBBBBBBBBIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGG! |

Re: ddr, itg, or piu?
I play both DDR and PiU. There are good and bad things about both:
DDR THE GOOD: 4 panels are easier to learn; The later arcade versions have alot of freakin' songs to play; The rating systems used are awesome and allow fans to keep score via Leagues and Online ranking; The Japanese Machines and SN2 allow memory cards and other forms of ranking; Picking songs is easy; BeForU. DDR THE BAD: The charts have gone down hill since DDR 4th Mix, and took another dive at SuperNOVA. Later Mixes use alot of the same songs; Konami has never found one Timing Window they stuck with as far as Im aware of; Song selection is mostly Jpop with Speed Techno; The Dancing characters suck. PIU THE GOOD: 5 Panels allow more flow in gameplay for advance dance players; Vast song selection with alot of genres and over two 3rds arnt just homebrewed; The newer charts are fun, challanging, and true to the song being played in must player's eyes; double chart counts as a regular chart thus meaning no paying extra for it; Later Mixes have alot of modes like Mission mode; BGs are mostly cool; BanYa. PIU THE BAD: 5 Panels is hard for newbs; Only around 90 songs for most mixes; "Easy" charts arent really easy ie DDR and not all songs have easy charts to begin with; Hard to pick songs and mods and the method changes between some mixes; The old charts are offsync as hell and make no sense whatsoever (but in later mixes, they are restepped) Timeing window is HHHUUUUGGGEEEEEEE meaning it's mostly just passing the song. No real scores are kept. I never played ITG, so I cant comment. I like PiU's concept alot better (5 panels) but dang I like the score system in DDR a hella more and I do enjoy BeforU alot =) |

Re: ddr, itg, or piu?
I have to say ITG.
I grew up playing DDR, but as soon as I switched over to ITG I have become 9000% better, and I enjoy it much more. |

Re: ddr, itg, or piu?
I have to say PIU because because at least about 98% of the step patterns actually make sense. And that it's hard as hell. Most DDR patterns dont make sense at all unless it's like max 300.ITG has patterns that make sense. But PIU offers the ultimate challenge.Oh and PIU's freeze arrows is what makes it good because those freezes can kill you or save you most of the time.Believe me,you will feel really good when your able to pass chimera on craz mode in PIU.

Re: ddr, itg, or piu?
DDR has a few good songs, but won't let you put hands in edit mode.
ITG has awesome songs, hands, and mines, but no edit mode. PIU is just plain confusing. ITG about 60% DDR about 30% PIU about 10%

Re: ddr, itg, or piu?
ITG is great for it's difficulty and charts that are fun. Downfall IMO is the music, which isn't the best.
DDR has great J-pop songs and a huge songlist. Downfall is the stepcharts itself, which sometimes don't make sense at all. PUI...haven't played much, but seems to be great so far, but I'll put it lower than ITG until I get better at it (when there is a PUI machine nearby). Music seems great, and stepcharts are hella fun so far. Downfall is that it's not easy-friendly at all. THEREFORE: ITG>PIU>DDR.

Re: ddr, itg, or piu?
PIU because compared to other dance music games, the steps seem a lot more fluid and fun. You can tell someone actually played them before they were released.

Re: ddr, itg, or piu?
for me its
PIU-60% ITG-35% DDR-5% first off, piu is just pure fun, its more of a challenge than the classic 4 panel games like ddr and itg. Itg has some respectable charts and is overall a really fun game, much better than ddr. I dont play ddr that much because the files are pure poop, but from time to time ill play it once or twice if im at the arcade since we dont have an itg or piu. |
