Default ITG2 - Best flash drive?

I've been trying out multiple flash drives over the past few weeks and can't seem to find one that does the job I need it to do. All of the ones I've tried are either too slow and only load a handful of songs, or don't work at all, or only work when you boot the machine with the card in it.

So do any of you know a particular type of drive that is fast and works great for ITG2?

I have an old SanDisk cruzer micro and it works well for me. Note about loading songs, you can only have 50 MB of songs to my knowledge, and there's some song limit, too, that I can't remember right now, but I've never had a problem with that while staying within 50 MB.

I use the DataTraveler.

It's not about the USB if I remember correctly. I think it's more about the machine itself. I've had these problems too until I started removing some songs and then the songs that didn't appear started appearing since the machine DOES have a time limit to load custom songs, so if they don't load in time it just skips.

From what I've heard, it depends on the USB readers on the machine you're using, the machine itself, and the size of the flash drive. Nothing else should be in the flash drive and I think the best size is 2 GB at max.

As for a specific brand, I personally use this one (they should be in every Target). Cheap, and has loaded every single time for me on multiple machines. The larger left section slides forward to protect itself.

And like alloyus said, if they didn't edit any of the options for the cabinet, the limits are usually 25 songs and 50MB.

Surprised no one mentioned that some songs may not be patched right on the machine (this would also include the revision the machine has applied along with the theme.)

So before switching to any particular flash drive, follow these steps in order until the problem is fixed.

1. Patch all the files (even if you already did it before, do it again.)
2. Empty out your drive of everything except the ITG folder itself.
3. Remove a select handful of long songs that may not have patched right (R23 can be a real b*tch sometimes.)
4. Now you can try a different drive. Size does not matter, but brand may matter because some brands are stupid (Sandisk Cruzer was always my choice since 06.)

If all fails, what theme is on the machine? Newer themes have the option to limit custom song lengths, amount of custom songs loaded and the total amount of all file sizes that have been loaded. So consider that to be a major factor as well.

I don't think there's a 50mb limit, because the very first time I loaded songs from the flash drive I use now, it loaded all of them no problem (60+ songs) and every time I've loaded it after that, it loads around half of them.

There's no theme on the machine, it's r21, everything is patched and nothing else is on the drive. There's 1 or 2 songs that go over the 5mb limit so I should remove those, but I don't understand why the first load would work great and then crap out after that. I'm using a 2gb Kingston DataTraveler.
